The Academy’s Undercover Professor – 165

◈ Episode 165: New medicine (2)
At first when Ludger boldly mixed all the ingredients together the emotions of those around him were astonishment.
‘You just use that whole thing without refining it? ‘Have you gone crazy?’
The teaching assistant who was watching to prepare for an unexpected situation seriously considered whether to stop it or not.
Then the moment he awkwardly lifted his butt off the chair the teaching assistant had no choice but to stop. Because Ludger did something more.
‘Is that the polytan sap that was crushed and made into juice earlier?’
Ludger mixed all the magic herbs together and poured Politan sap into them.
Then something surprising happened.
‘The toxicity contained in the magic herb… is disappearing?’
The round ball of magic weed was submerged under the sap and its toxicity was floating on the surface of the sap.
The toxicity which can be said to be the biggest danger of magic vinegar has been completely separated.
‘I knew that Politan leaves have a detoxifying effect but what about that…’
There is no way that such an effect could be achieved simply with sap.
It was clearly some other magical treatment.
‘Did that ingredient have that effect?’
Ludger placed dried leaves on top of the sap. Then the poison floating on the surface was absorbed into the leaves.
The green leaves turned black.
After removing all the toxins Ludger took out the lump of magic vinegar inside with sterilized tongs and placed it in a large bottle.
The whole process was as natural as flowing water.
Chris Benimore watched the scene as if fascinated.
Penetrate without even forgetting that you are watching secretly.
‘What the hell? What kind of method is that?’
What Ludger did was incomprehensible to Chris who had knowledge of pharmaceutical science.
As many as 10 high-level ingredients and magic herbs which were difficult to handle properly were used.
‘It is clear that we must fail.’
It would be better if you just failed.

If the magic power contained in that herb had worked in the wrong direction there would have been an explosion in the apothecary room not alchemy.
But what I feared did not happen.
There was nothing to worry about.
So does this mean that Ludger successfully made medicine using those countless herbs?
‘It can’t be. Obviously nothing dangerous happened but I don’t know if it’s really effective as a medicine.’
Just in time Ludger finished tableting the refined pills and created the perfect medicine.
Chris glared at the medicine.
The purpose was to check what the surface of the drug was like.
Properly made pills have a smooth and even surface but in the case of failed pills the surface is usually bumpy or cracked.
However the pill made by Ludger was so clean that it could be called perfect.
‘You succeeded?’
Are you saying it was made properly using such dangerous ingredients?
In addition a subtle glow of magical power was lingering within the translucent pill as if just looking at it proved that it was no ordinary medicine.
Chris was about to ask how on earth it was made but he barely held back.
My pride wouldn’t allow it.
‘If you think about it the pills that person took were not sold on the market.’
Could it be that all of those pills were made by him himself?
You made your own medicine from scratch?
“What is this?”
The teaching assistant unable to contain his curiosity came over and asked that question.
The same was true for the graduate students and students preparing to graduate who were quietly concentrating on research around them.
They waited for Ludger to answer.
“It’s an item to restore magical power.”
“It’s a magical power recovery potion. “Can I check it out?”
“Arthur.”
The instructor who immediately tried to find out the status of the magic potion had no choice but to stop due to Ludger’s dissuasion.
“If you try to use it carelessly a runaway of magic power will occur.”
“Yes yes?”
“It is an item that only restores magical power without considering any other effects. “We only removed toxins that are fatal to the human body.”
If an ordinary wizard eats it a runaway of magical power will occur.
Even if you eat it with all your mana depleted it will be difficult to withstand the overflowing power.
The teaching assistant who heard the warning looked like he couldn’t believe Ludger’s words.
It is true that it is a mixture of dangerous magic candles but it is still a complacent thought to know how effective it will be.
It was then that Chris who had been observing the situation stepped forward.
“The man is right.”
“Mr. Chris Benimore?”
Chris came here often so he became acquainted with the teaching assistant.

The assistant teacher looked quite embarrassed as if he didn’t know that Chris Benimore was going to protect Ludger.
“Just based on the ingredients used it would be enough to destroy a body that has run out of mana by filling it with mana. “If you make a mistake your entire body’s magical nervous system will burn out.”
“You saw it right.”
“joy. You can tell that at a glance. And what a dangerous pill it is.”
Even if the loss rate of the ingredients in the medicine approaches more than 80% the remaining 20% is enough to ruin a person.
Effectiveness Risk Efficiency.
Of the three factors that must be taken into account when manufacturing a drug this is an extreme drug that maximizes only one [effect] and discards the other two.
Even if the poison has been removed it is more dangerous than poison.
The medicine made by Ludger is like that.
“Are you thinking about committing suicide?”
“If I had I wouldn’t have made so many.”
“Then what? “You really made it to be used?”
“Is there any reason not to do that?”
Chris felt a strange feeling when he saw Ludger’s eyes staring at him.
Everything he does everything he says even his tone of voice.
He didn’t seem like someone who was just trying to show off.
‘Are you serious?’
I knew that he usually suffered from a lack of magical power because I happened to find him taking medicine at the banquet hall that day.
I don’t know if it was a chronic illness or something else but Ludger didn’t really try to hide this fact anymore.
It was all revealed anyway so there was no need for it.
‘Even so there is no way that using drugs at that level is normal.’
It’s not just about experiencing a runaway of horsepower.
If even a high-ranking wizard ate it his magic would build up and then run wild inside his body and overflow.
No matter how Seorn’s teacher was there was no way he could completely digest the effects of that medicine.
‘Or the amount of magic discharge is so high that it makes no sense.’
If horsepower is the water contained in a water tank discharge is the passage through which the water is drawn out.
Of course the most important thing a wizard requires is the amount of mana.
If you don’t have enough mana you won’t be able to use the magic you want to use properly.
But the second most important thing is of course emissions.
If you have a lot of mana but the output is low it’s like not being able to use that massive mana properly.
If only one bucket of water can be pumped out at a time from a massive dam then that large amount of water is virtually meaningless.
Even if there is a lot of mana if the discharge is not enough there is a problem as a magician.
However if you have at least a lot of mana you can play your role well as a wizard.
Because a person who has 5 mana but can use 3 each is better as a wizard than someone who has 10 mana but can use 1 each.
‘However an average wizard’s discharge amount is less than 10% of his or her maximum mana no matter how high it is.’
However because the amount of emission can be increased through training like human muscles a skilled wizard can increase the output.
Even taking everything into account it is difficult for the emission amount to exceed 20%.
Occasionally there are unusual cases where the number exceeds 30% but such cases are so small that they can only be counted on one hand.
‘That guy can do that? It can’t happen.’
However I realized while watching sparring that Ludger’s mana release rate is considerably higher than that of other people.
I don’t know what kind of chronic illness I have but I also know that I’m always low on mana.
But that one.
That drug is too much.
“assistant. “I think everything has been confirmed but are there still any questions left?”
“Oh no.”
The assistant also seemed to realize that she could no longer ask Ludger anything and went back to her seat.
However as if he couldn’t completely suppress his curiosity he kept glancing in this direction.
Chris glanced at the people around him and spoke so that only Ludger could hear.
“Is it because of a chronic illness that requires constant medication?”
Ludger who was putting the created pills into a suitable medicine container looked at Chris as if asking what that meant.
“Having to continuously recover mana means that mana is being consumed in real time. “I’ve never heard of such a disease.”
“You’ve probably never heard of it.”
In the first place this was not a chronic disease but rather a problem with my constitution.
So I have no choice but to not know.
“It’s more surprising than that. “I can’t believe Teacher Chris is curious about this.”
“What’s surprising?”
“Didn’t you make a move in sparring targeting this aspect from the beginning?”
“….”
Chris was speechless for a moment at Ludger’s point.
“Do you feel any sympathy now?”
“…I know you won’t believe it anyway. But let me tell you in advance it was Vice Chancellor Hugo who made the suggestion first.”
It was Chris who informed Hugo that Ludger was taking medicine.
However Chris never thought that he would sneak into the teacher’s office and steal the medicine.
Chris who was proud of himself as an aristocrat did not like such things very much.
“Whew. embrace. “In the end it’s all just an excuse.”
I never would have guessed that Hugo would order Debian to do something like that.
Maybe the problem was that it made Hugo roll his eyes by letting him know about Ludger’s weakness.
“I won’t say there is nothing wrong with me. “Even though it wasn’t my intention I did something unbecoming of a noble.”
Chris readily admitted his mistake.
I am aware that I have done something unbecoming.
Even that it is shameful.
To be honest.
He still hated Ludger.
At first he was angry that the specialized field he was supposed to teach was taken away.
As the fallen nobleman threatened his position it felt like a big threat to Chris who was already sensitive and his family was already on the decline.
A cocky fallen nobleman.
This was the only evaluation I had of Ludger.
But after seeing Ludger my thoughts changed.
Ludger is a fallen nobleman but he is not attached to his family and rejects Hugo’s proposal.
This was the opposite of his attempt to protect his family’s prestige by increasing connections with nobles.
He invented new magic and taught it to his students.
It was the opposite of himself who never wanted to reveal his family’s secrets.
When the students were in danger during the werewolf incident he took the initiative and dealt with the bastard.
It was the complete opposite of himself who had been deceived by Hugo’s claim that the culprit was a student.
Ludger seemed like a man who had everything against him.
Every single thing he did touched Chris’s disgust.
I didn’t want to admit it but I had no choice but to admit it.
That he was unseemly jealous of this man.
“Take it.”
Since he couldn’t bring himself to say those words out loud Chris passed a reagent bottle to Ludger.
Ludger lightly grabbed the medicine bottle out of the air and looked at it asking what it was.
“It’s our family’s special mana sedative. “If you take the whole pill you will get sick so it would be better if you take them together.”
Chris who was saying that clicked his tongue as if he felt embarrassed.
“Are you really giving it to me?”
“Then are there any fake ones?”
“I didn’t seem like the kind of person who would give so easily.”
“…Are we going to fight now?”
“Pure admiration.”
“joy. “Anyway I belong to the Benimore family.”
The Benimore family has been making drugs since ancient times.
Medicine that heals people medicine that cures illness.
Even though they may be behind the times what they wanted was dedication to people.
That was the reason why Chris readily handed over the medicine to Ludger.
No matter how jealous and hateful a person he is if that person is sick he will gladly give him medicine.
“Let me tell you I haven’t acknowledged you yet. But I’m not the type of person to just leave someone who wants to do something crazy like that.”
Ludger stared at Chris with a look of surprise.
He knew very well how precious the medicine Chris gave him was.
‘Magic stabilizers are expensive and rare.’
It is a medicine that is close to a cure that helps wizards suffering from mana overload to put out urgent fires.
Since it is a product only for wizards and not for general people to eat the ingredients used are different and it is more expensive.
But Chris Benimore readily handed it over.
I said smugly that I could just give this much but obviously spending is spending.
‘At least he wasn’t just an aristocrat with pride.’
Of course even so the image of Chris Benimore was still that of an unlucky aristocrat.
but.
At least he seemed a little more like a real noble than other lip-smacking nobles.
“Since you gave it to me it wouldn’t be polite to refuse it. “I will write well.”
As Ludger carefully took the medicine bottle Chris snorted happily but didn’t say anything.
Still he seemed satisfied because he said he wrote it well.
Chris who seemed to have finished his business couldn’t help but wonder about Ludger’s unexpected behavior the moment he was about to make his own medicine.
“What are you doing now?”
Ludger was drying the leaves that had absorbed the poison of the magic herb and breaking them into small pieces.
And isn’t the crushed powder collected and carefully swept away?
“Isn’t it a waste to throw it away?”
Chris was speechless at the sight of Ludger answering in a dry tone.
“Do you know how dangerous it is?”
“I know.”
“what?”
“And in fact this is real.”
“….”
Ludger is now planning to use even the poison from that lump of magic herb without throwing it away.
For the first time Chris felt something other than irritation towards Ludger.
It was pure wonder.
