The Academy’s Undercover Professor – 16

◈ Episode 16 Doubt (1)
‘Why is that person suddenly here?’
I don’t know why the president is here.
I walked into my personal teacher’s office with a leisurely pace and closed the door.
Unless you know for what purpose they came to see you you should never reveal your true feelings no matter what.
Crash.
As the door closed a suffocating silence came into the room.
I naturally sat across from the president who was sitting on the guest sofa.
She was just smiling while looking at me.
The first to speak was the president.
“how is it? “Isn’t the interior design really pretty?”
There is no substance to what you say while rhyming.
But don’t let down your guard. Because that kind of behavior itself might be an attempt to get rid of me.
“yes. okay.”
“Seorn Academy provides each teacher with their own personal space. Teacher Ludger here you can do whatever you want without worrying about what others think.”
“I like that.”
The president’s golden eyes turned to me.
I also faced her gaze without avoiding it.
I saw myself inside the beautiful well-crafted amber-like eyes.
It was the same when we first met but when I look into the president’s gaze I feel an itch in my body.
I immediately changed the topic.
“Mr. President what brought you here?”
“Am I somewhere I shouldn’t be?”
“I’m just curious about how a busy person like the president would visit the personal space of a new teacher like this.”
“Then it’s not like I’m somewhere I can’t come?”
“But it’s burdensome.”

When I spoke directly the president fell silent.
The friendly smile was still there but a strange emotion that was difficult to understand was spreading in his eyes like a drop of ink dropped into water.
The president shook his head.
“There is no particular reason.”
“Is that so?”
“No matter how new Mr. Ludger is he is a valuable teacher who has been appointed to Seorn Academy. Of course as the president I can’t help but be concerned.”
“okay.”
When I corrected her appropriately she made a pouting expression as if she was dissatisfied with something.
“You can be a little more surprised.”
“I’m sorry but I’m already shocked enough.”
It’s not a lie it’s true.
I opened the door with a pounding heart because it was my personal space but how surprised I was when I saw the president there.
I was confident that I wouldn’t be more surprised if I encountered a ghost while walking down the street in the middle of the night.
It’s just that I ate it in my spare time so I didn’t show it outwardly.
In fact my heart is still beating like crazy and I am nervous that the president might hear.
“The other teachers were all surprised.”
“Did anyone else stop by besides me?”
“Mr. Ludger is the last.”
Why did you put me last? And does the president plan to at least interview the new teachers?
I suddenly remembered the existence of a secret society that had permeated Seorn.
‘perhaps.’
Did the president also notice something?
No matter how secret a society is there is no way it can completely hide its tail.
And if it’s someone like the president.
‘You must have noticed that people showing suspicious movements have entered Seorn.’
If I hadn’t known about it I would have dismissed it as something like that but now that I found out that there was a secret society here the president’s attitude also seems different.
Are you really doubting me?
‘There is a possibility.’
It’s a bit unfair to me but honestly there’s no room for argument.
I am not a member of a secret society but I am an official of a secret society.
I wonder what this means but this is actually my situation right now.
When I think about it my real identity is not that proud so I still have to struggle to avoid getting caught.
“so. “What did you come to ask me President?”
“Just? I also wanted to check how the first class was. “You were just coming back from class right?”
“yes.”
“Have there been any instances where the students gave you a hard time or anything like that?”
“There wasn’t anything in particular.”

Rather I wondered if it would be okay if the students didn’t ask me this many questions.
Well I may have intentionally given off a strong vibe telling people not to approach me but I just meant to not bother them too much. I didn’t know that no one would do that.
ah. Still the daughter of the Lumos family did ask a question.
“Hmm. That’s fascinating. “I looked at the list of students taking Mr. Ludger’s lecture this time and there were a lot of them who were quite famous.”
“Is that so?”
“Have you not seen the list?”
“I brought it for you to see now.”
I waved the paper in my hand.
“Well it’s something that Professor Ludger will take care of himself but you never know. “The princess is also there so please be careful not to cause any trouble.”
“yes. “Of course.”
Princess?
Could it be that someone even a princess came to listen to my class?
It’s yellow pine and you’re sleeping. This is just embarrassing.
Suddenly I remember the blonde student who boldly asked me a question.
Now that I think about it I thought it looked like a familiar face. Was it of that lineage?
“And I heard that there are a lot of freshmen in this year’s class. “I originally thought you would only teach second graders but I never thought you would teach joint classes up to first graders.”
“I didn’t really intend to differentiate between first and second year students.”
“I’m not trying to place blame. Rather I am in favor of Professor Ludger’s method which has made some changes of its own. “I see some pretty amazing kids especially among the first graders.”
“You mean great kids?”
“yes. [Unique] There are children who use type magic there are children who come from great families and there are children who were raised very diligently in the Magic Tower. “I think there is usually a gap between different grades but I think that will be less of a problem for these freshmen.”
The sight of her smiling brightly while thinking of her students was fitting for the position of president of the academy.
Every time I see that smile my skin crawls.
First of all I was not in a position where I could say anything confidently out of conscience so I just listened to the president and briefly countered.
“Well anyway we at Seorn have high expectations for Teacher Ludger Chelisi.”
“This is an undeserved assessment.”
“I’m glad that you didn’t have any problems in your first class and your first impressions with the students seemed to be okay. “It’s one less thing to worry about.”
After saying those words the president stood up.
I asked out of courtesy.
“Let’s have a cup of tea and go.”
“yes?”
Was it surprising that I said this?
She made a slightly puzzled expression but then her eyes curved like a crescent moon.
“Thank you for the offer but there is a lot of work to be done. “You barely made time to come here?”
“okay.”
“And Mr. Ludger since you just arrived do you know where the tea is and where the glasses are in this teacher’s office?”
“It’s probably on a shelf somewhere.”
“Dang. In fact we only provided coffee. “If you want to drink tea you must apply separately to the tea room.”
“I see. “I didn’t know.”
“You can find out in the future. then. “Please take care of me in the future as well?”
The president greeted me with a playful smile and left with those words.
He was truly like a calm storm.
I sighed softly and rubbed my eyelids with my fingers.
* * *
“How was it?”
Wilford an old gentleman followed behind the president as he walked down the hallway at a leisurely pace and asked.
“Are your suspicions about Mr. Ludger resolved?”
“hmm. well.”
The president recalled a conversation he had with Ludger Chelisi. To be exact it was the restrained attitude he showed towards himself.
“It’s a bit long.”
“Is that so?”
Ludger Chelisi was a unique man. The president thought so.
Anyone who makes eye contact with her is captivated by her golden eyes.
To be precise it was closer to being bewitched by the innate magical power contained in her eyes themselves.
The magical eye of fascination.
The president’s power and the greatest contributor to her rise to this position.
Of course using the magical eye of fascination on an opponent is not intentional. It’s like an innate constitution so anyone who makes eye contact will automatically get it even if she doesn’t intend to.
It is now possible to control it to some extent but in the past daily life was difficult.
However now that she has become president she honestly admits that she would not have been able to get to this position without the Mystic Eyes.
Because there was nothing better than this to track down people who might come into Seorn with a plan.
I tried to use the excuse of a personal interview to reveal my true feelings.
‘My magical eye tends to be more influenced by the greater the other person’s magical power.’
Her magical eyes can even affect 4th rank wizards. Of course the premise is that the opponent did not use mental defense magic.
In particular the greater the magic power an opponent encounters with the Demon Eye the more easily they are defeated. The power of the magical eye is ultimately proportional to the total amount of magical power possessed by the opponent.
But Ludger didn’t do that.
He may be a level 4 teacher but his reaction is completely different from other teachers.
The first time I encountered Mystic Eyes was when he had just entered the president’s office.
And this is the second time.
The man showed no signs of wavering even after facing his demon eye twice.
Didn’t you see it? no. There is a perception that one has encountered the devil’s eye. And yet there is no response.
It is said that she resisted the power of her magical eyes with only a will like steel.
The president’s eyes lit up.
‘Really.’
He’s a fun guy.
The president had no choice but to think that way.
However those feelings cannot be revealed openly.
“Suspicious movements have been detected so we are focusing on those who are most wary but there is no significant result.”
Since I recently found out that an unsavory group of people has been hiding in Seorn I have become unable to overlook even trivial matters.
Among them Ludger Cellisi was caught up in a train terrorist incident on his way here.
It’s not your fault though.
You start to think about what might happen.
What if the train incident was a blind eye and a person named Ludger Chelisi was replaced during it?
So the president sent Wilford his most trusted confidant and one of the strongest men in Seorn’s power.
Under the pretext of meeting him.
“What do you think Mr. Wilford?”
“hmm. “I don’t think I can trust it right away but I didn’t find anything particularly suspicious.”
“Is that so?”
If Wilford were to say something like that it would be one of two things.
Either Ludger Chelsea is really an innocent person.
Or maybe he’s someone great enough to fool us completely.
‘For now I can only hope it’s not the latter.’
Since there are so many things to worry about right now I decided to stop worrying about Ludger.
“ah. “But I can be sure of one thing.”
“What is that?”
“That man Ludger Chelisi is anything but ordinary.”
“Not normal? “What made you say that?”
“I guess the only answer is that it’s just an old man’s intuition.”
“What is it?”
First of all Wilford seemed quite favorable to Ludger Chelsea.
If Wilford who has a clear eye for people says that you can believe it.
Still doubts are not completely eliminated.
Because at any moment the possibility of what if could lead to the worst outcome.
A wizard is a being who must deeply consider such possibilities.
Above all she is the president of Seorn Academy.
Since she was a person who had reached a position of absolute perfection that did not tolerate even the slightest inclination she had no choice but to be careful in all cases.
* * *
Left alone I was able to relax my shoulders and sigh only after I saw her presence outside the door getting farther away.
I’m exhausted.
The brain demanded magical power.
‘Suddenly someone as big as the president comes to visit.’
Well according to the person himself it is like a personal interview that is usually given to new teachers.
If someone like the president suddenly comes and says that who would believe it?
You think they’re interrogating everything.
‘That’s not the point.’
I immediately went and sat down in front of my personal desk.
The desk itself made of luxurious wood looked quite expensive.
On one wall is a clock made of gears. On the other wall a map of Seorn is spread out pinned to a board.
There are red curtains on either side of the window with an old-fashioned design and even the chair you are sitting on is very luxurious.
I was amazed at Seorn’s ability to allocate this much space to a new teacher and I was also amazed at how it was filled with all kinds of luxurious items.
I looked at the list of students taking my lecture.
‘It was real.’
On the list of students taking the class there was a student with an unusually long and cool name.
2nd year Erendir von Exilion.
If she has the imperial name Exilion in her last name you wouldn’t be a fool to know that she is of noble lineage.
‘You’re the kid who boldly asked me during the first orientation right?’
I thought it looked like a familiar face so I guess it was the royal family.
I’m going to turn around. After all the princess is listening to my lectures.
I will be taking classes from other teachers besides myself but that doesn’t mean my burden goes away.
Even though Seorn is like a third region that is guaranteed autonomy even within the empire it’s a different story if there are people from the royal family.
If something happens to her we too will be in trouble.
‘There’s no way something could happen in Seorn in the first place but you never know.’
We cannot rule out minor accidents that occur when testing magic reagents conducting mock battles or practicing alchemy.
Even if we pay as much attention to the safety of students as possible there are times when students fight among themselves in places that cannot be seen by teachers.
In order to eliminate such situations as much as possible teachers are also given a duty to protect their students.
…Now that I think about it there is a secret society hiding in Seorn.
‘I’m going to turn away.’
no. Still something doesn’t happen right away so let’s think about it calmly for now.
I also carefully looked at the lists of other students.
Among the first and second graders there were some kids who really stood out.
‘Even Flora of the Lumos family and nobles from other kingdoms?’
Then suddenly my eyes stopped on one student.
‘Aidan.’
An ordinary commoner who did not grow up in a particularly great family nor was he taught by a famous wizard.
Coming here he was clearly talented but compared to other students he was a child who had nothing special about him.
‘It looks familiar somehow.’
There was something strangely grabbing my nerves.
