The Academy’s Undercover Professor – 14

◈ Episode 14 Source Code (1)
The students hold their breath at my words.
Because some people don’t know what source code is.
Another person was astonished by the emergence of new magic.
Somebody.
Someone else.
But I know that the object they were looking at was the same and that all their emotions were not hostile.
‘but. It must be really surprising for them.’
No matter how advanced science is this world is about the 19th century in terms of Earth.
Because it was mainly about magic not science it made much more rapid progress than I originally thought of history.
Still as a person living in the 21st century there were bound to be many shortcomings.
This was especially true due to the lack of a computer-based computing system.
‘Source code is a type of blueprint that outputs a specified result immediately after inputting input values. I made it by incorporating magic.’
Of course I didn’t make this by myself.
To be exact I came up with the idea but the actual composition and completion were only possible with the help of the teacher who taught me magic.
Still since I have a stake in what I created there should be no problem teaching it to students.
Considering my teacher’s personality I don’t think he’s the kind of person who would say anything about something like this. Rather the problem was what I would experience once I encountered it.
Back to the main point.
This source code technique is close to a trick created based on memories of living on Earth.
This may be unbelievable to students who know the algorithm but don’t know the computer’s hardware software program input and output codes.
Above all the level of magicians stagnated due to their excessive sense of being the chosen people and confidence and at the same time there was a widespread trend of looking down on science.
There is no way that they can easily accept their method of emphasizing a scientific feel.
Foaming at the mouth ‘This isn’t magic!’ I will shout
Compared to those guys I still have a free way of thinking.
‘Of course it was quite difficult to come up with the idea.’
In order to operate software called source code a main body called hardware and program data are required.

Here hardware refers to the wand that can perform magic or the wizard itself.
A program is a magic formula and data is the magic power to make it come true.
In the end the source code I used was through biological hardware called a human being.
Consumes data called horsepower
Following a program called Sulsik
The process of manifesting software called magic is magic contained all at once.
As long as you have this source code even complex magical techniques can produce complete results by simply infusing a little magic.
To put it simply while others carefully draw the magic stroke by stroke to implement magic I just stamp it like a stamp.
It is easy to think about the difference in speed between handwriting and printing.
No matter how fast a copyist is there is no way he or she can keep up with the speed of someone who prints using metal printing.
Even when people are impatient they end up making mistakes.
If the spell is wrong the ending is wrong or the flow of magic power is tangled or out of order.
Naturally magic loses its mysterious power and does not work.
Or there are cases where magical energy backflows putting one’s life in danger.
However the programmed source code does not even exist.
In any situation only clearly determined values are provided.
That speed is something that other wizards cannot match.
‘Of course it would be faster than this if a wizard of rank 6 or higher did it.’
Those people are superhumans with supercomputers in their heads so exclude them from the beginning.
From the perspective of Seorn Academy students who have not yet fully matured this source code will be a truly great revolution.
‘It’s not without its drawbacks. The limit to what can be used is 3rd tier magic. Anything beyond that will cause overload due to the horsepower capacity. Also making this source code itself is incredibly complicated and difficult.’
It is not for nothing that computer programmers test various patterns in debugging.
Because I’ve been racking my brain to make one of these too.
However it is very convenient because once you make it you can use it over and over again.
In particular for magic of level 3 or lower there is no need to bother making and using spells one by one.
In the end the magic called source code is the product of an invention created by those without talent to catch up with those with talent as much as possible.
Even though I do this I feel rather sad that I cannot become a first-class person.
Still what can you do?
If you want to do well as a teacher for two years at this academy where only geniuses gather you have to earn at least some of your resources to teach classes.
Well if you do this won’t people look at you funny?
I hope so.

The students all fell silent at the advent of the groundbreaking magic manifestation technique called Source Code.
The silence that fell throughout the classroom was heated.
In particular first graders literally have lasers shooting out of their eyes.
I chose Ludger Cellisi’s class feeling half-deceived and then I got to witness something like this.
Some students felt a chill running down their spines.

‘If I couldn’t overcome the pressure of the moment and made a different choice.’
‘What if I didn’t take this class today?’
A drink for a drink.
A new way of expressing magic that transcends common sense.
You cannot witness its appearance with your own eyes and on top of that you are deprived of the opportunity to learn from it.
It was such a terrible nightmare that for students trying to become wizards just imagining it would send chills down to the marrow of their bones and make their stomachs ache.
…I’m so glad.
All the students gathered here had the same thought.
And then I saw Ludger again.
Obviously my first impression of him was very serious deep and intense different from what I thought.
Even so what is ultimately important to a magic academy teacher is magic skills.
You can’t earn a student’s respect by simply repeating what others have said.
But now.
All the students who saw the new magic had feelings of awe beyond respect for Ludger.
Above all Ludger’s actions are also surprising.
Even though he demonstrated in front of everyone a new method that can be said to be the discovery of the century his expression shows no signs of excitement.
Students suddenly think of this naturalness.
Was it something that this man could just naturally perform in front of everyone even the groundbreaking magic of the source code?
perhaps.
Aside from this groundbreaking magic isn’t there another secret?
If you invent something like that and still get that kind of indifferent reaction there’s no way there isn’t something else great going on.
That moment.
A spark ignited in the hearts of the 80 Magic Academy students present in the classroom.
If you learn that magic.
If you change his teachings into your own.
‘I can improve further!’
That strong will is revealed in the eyes and is shot towards Ludger through the heated atmosphere.
Ludger’s reaction was just that with half-hearted eyes but his back inside his clothes was damp with cold sweat.
‘Why are their eyes like that?’
For Ludger who was only expecting comments that he was a moderately great or good teacher the students’ reaction was beyond his imagination.
Eyes hotter than lava just breaking through the stratum.
Ludger felt like he was going to get burned so he whipped his heart even more gathered himself and maintained a poker face.
Once I unlock one of their secret cards I think things will be fine for a while.
But I thought I couldn’t just push on like this forever.
To avoid having the academy discover that you are a fraud or to avoid having the secret society discover that you are a fake.
There was more to prepare in the future.
‘Let’s go to the end.’
To survive.
First of all what had to be done with the wedding of this duke’s wife who was on the podium.
“Flora Lumos.”
Shocked.
Flora who had been distracted by Ludger’s source code magic finally came to her senses.
Ludger’s cold and sharp eyes contained his own image.
It felt like those eyes were like sharp blades cutting through my heart.
‘Who is this person….’
I thought of myself as a genius.
And he has the talent to match.
No one doubted her. Because she showed her skills in person to those who had doubts.
Even if he was a teacher at the academy he would be embarrassed in front of her.
No matter how old you are no matter how long you study magic and no matter how much effort you put into it.
Because she was getting ahead of her teachers.
But this man is different.
He neither reveals nor boasts about himself. At the same time they are not influenced by others.
It is as if you are looking at a pillar of steel that is deeply embedded in the ground and stands tall.
Even if there are storms rain or snow it does not rust or wear out.
No matter what flaws this side tries to find not even a scar is left.
‘What on earth makes this person a new teacher? Source code? ‘I’ve never even heard of such magic.’
The intimidation was enough to put even Flora who had encountered the royal family a few times on edge.
Even the noble princess had her eyes wide open at the sight of Ludger.
“A groundbreaking shortening method for magic spells. “Has the question I’ve been wondering about finally been answered?”
“…yes.”
Flora answered trying hard to feign calm.
Maintain a neat posture and control your trembling voice. I told myself not to be shaken.
Was her behavior funny?
There was a slight but faint smile on Ludger’s lips.
It’s as if this side’s desperate pretense of strength has already been seen through.
“Flora Lumos.”
“…yes. teacher.”
“You couldn’t overcome your own narrow-mindedness and asked questions without my permission. Do you admit it?”
Flora bit her lip.
Although it was a matter of pride there was no room for disagreement.
Flora clenched her fists with her fern-like hands and barely managed to move her lips that would not fall.
“Yes… I admit it.”
A painful sense of defeat that I have never felt before.
The envious looks I normally felt from students have never been as painful as it is now.
Suddenly a memory from my childhood that I wanted to forget came to mind.
The sight of his father looking down at him with a cold gaze. Her goal was to be recognized for being a vain thief.
I felt like crying so I held back desperately.
Because I couldn’t collapse here yet.
“I know this myself so I won’t say more than this. However your actions are clearly a direct challenge to church authority. “Like I warned you the first time I’m not going to let this go.”
“…yes.”
“Flora Lumos. “I give you 10 penalty points.”
Penalty points awarded.
That wasn’t all that surprising but if the target was Flora the story would be different.
Seorn’s genius who has never made a single flaw until now.
She had absolutely nothing to do with penalty points and seemed unlikely to ever have any so even the penalty points of only 10 points were huge.
A slight flaw in a craft that should be perfect.
That’s why it feels bigger and more painful than anything else.
“Do you have any complaints?”
“…no. “I think it’s reasonable.”
Flora bit her lip.
“oh my god.”
“That Flora….”
Even other students were surprised that Flora received a penalty point.
Moreover this was not a forced finding but a reasonable punishment that even he had no choice but to admit.
Flora steps down from the podium with weak steps and returns to her original position.
At that moment Ludger’s voice called her out.
“But the [Rumbling Flame] technique you showed was more perfect than anything I’ve ever seen.”
I stop and look back at the podium.
Ludger was staring at him. With an unchanging infinitely upright gaze.
“I don’t hate students with skills. So Flora Lumos. “There are 10 stores.”
10 stores.
As a result the 10 penalty points that were given to her virtually disappeared.
Some students who envied Flora thought it was fortunate while others who were jealous of her thought it was unfortunate.
However Flora the person involved felt unprecedented shame.
Even though the penalty points have disappeared the memory of being penalized against her still remains.
It was something I couldn’t forget even after 10 years or maybe even for the rest of my life.
But suddenly it’s a store.
Flora interpreted the meaning of the store given by Ludger as follows.
It was the winner’s mercy given to this foolish student who dared to attack him. Even that praise is just a deception.
Conversely it left an indelible wound on Flora’s pride.
“thank you.”
however.
This was all she could say.
When I returned to my seat and sat down Cheryl who had been watching the whole situation anxiously asked in a worried voice.
“Flora. are you okay?”
Cheryl knew how strong Flora’s pride was. To be precise it is inevitable that you will become that way because of what you experienced when you were young.
It was hard to imagine how humiliating it would be for Flora to be reprimanded by the new teacher in front of everyone.
“huh. are you okay.”
Flora smiled brightly and answered. Her relaxed appearance was no different from her usual appearance so she did not look like she was hurt at all.
‘ah. It’s okay. okay. Since she’s Flor she can probably get rid of this kind of thing right away.’
Cheryl was internally relieved.
I felt foolish for thinking that her friend might go astray in a bad direction.
It still is. Flora was preparing to take class staring at the podium with the same expression as usual.
But I didn’t see Cheryl. Not only she but no one in the classroom knew.
A hot fire burning inside Flora’s eyes that would burn down everything.
* * *
I returned to my seat and checked Flora’s condition.
I later remembered that the Lumos family was a famous ducal family in the empire. That means that the child is the duke’s daughter.
You wouldn’t use your family’s power to put pressure on you based on what just happened right? Are you going home and telling your father?
Even though it was said that this was Seorn the students were still young so the possibility could not be ruled out.
However Flora’s expression as she sat down was calm. There is nothing strange about having a natural conversation with a friend sitting next to you.
hmm. okay.
From the looks of it he’s a smart kid so I wouldn’t take something like this to heart.
Giving the store in the first place was an attempt at reconciliation to not fight and try to do better in the future.
I’m really glad that you accepted that.
“Then let’s start the first class.”
