    ◈ Episode 130 Magic Square Class (2)

Two hours passed while I was teaching numerology and magic squares to students.

When I came to my senses the end of class was just around the corner.

Is it time to end it soon?

“There are 5 minutes left until class ends. “I will erase all the contents of the Magic Board in 5 minutes so if any students have not taken notes yet please finish them.”

If nothing else I had no intention of ending class early or taking extended classes.

Finished it like a knife just in time.

    This was my motto.

    “omg! “It’s already time!”

“Oh no! “I haven’t written it all down yet!”

Is it because it was clearly instilled in me from the first class that I should leave work early?

The students also realized that my words were not in vain and scribbled urgently with their pens.

The students who had been playing with their pen tips with a strong determination not to miss a single letter fell down on their desks with exhausted faces after five minutes.

“Huh. “I wrote it all down.”

“If I had missed even one I wouldn’t have been able to sleep tonight….”

Satisfied expressions contrast with tired voices.

I felt proud just seeing the smiles on the faces of students who were eager to learn.

    okay. That’s what learning is.

The desire to do something and to know something.

Learning is a noble desire that should not be hindered by anyone.

“I’ll announce it in advance. The second test which is coming soon will be conducted as a practical test based on today’s class.”

As soon as the story of the test came up the students straightened their backs and took a listening position.

“The topic of course is the magic square taught this time. As you have learned a magic square cannot be completed simply by drawing one square.”

The various magical processes that went into it were also processed but it also meant that it was not just a square that became a magic square.

There are triangles hexagons and stars.

Breaking away from the circle known as conventional wisdom you can draw any shape you think of as a magic circle.

In other words it means infinity without being bound by formality.

It was because of these expectations that I chose the magic square as the second test for my students.

“Create your own magic circle through the lessons you learned today. “This is both the content and task of the second test.”

The students murmur at my words.

Not only had the contents of the second practical test been announced already but asking them to create a new magic circle was completely absurd.

Most people probably thought that even the second test would be a reasonably written exam.

In fact Seorn’s bachelor’s program basically takes this form.

However I have no intention of following Seorn’s undergraduate course.

Although it is only a two-year contract I plan to do my best during that period.

So I conduct the test in my own way.

“I expect you to see the best results.”

With those words I turned away from the despairing students and left the classroom.

    * * *

After class Ludger posted the report card on the classroom notice as announced in advance.

After the lecture students flocked to check their seats.

From 1st to 80th. The rankings and scores of all students enrolled were clearly written on paper.

“madam. “Why is the score like this?”

“No you got this question wrong? “You should calm down a little more!”

“oh my god. “I got worse than the average score.”

The average score on the test was 65 out of 100.

The top students scored over 90 points but other students could not even get over 80 points let alone the 90 point threshold.

As a result the names of students who did not make it into the top five but scored over 90 points were bound to stand out.

    6th place – Iona Ovalley. 92 points.

    7th place – Clara Harness. 91 points.

Among them the one that caught the eye by far was the car next to fifth place.

The 7th place is a newcomer to the Alchemy School. Then 6th place? Who is in 6th place?

When the students first heard the name Iona Ovalley they wondered who it was but soon realized who it was and made strange faces.

Iona who had bronze skin and was quite tall stood out in many ways.

In particular the animal ears sticking out on top of her dark hair caught my eye even as I passed by.

It was a reality that was difficult to accept that Iona a beastman ranked 6th overall.

‘no. Suin is ranked 6th? Does this make sense?’

‘I heard that the beast people are a barbaric race that knows nothing but fighting.’

The beast people were still seen as barbarians who solved everything physically.

Unlike some elves and dwarves who entered human society most beastmen were very hostile to humans.

It was the aftermath of colonial rule after being defeated by humans in a colonial war in the past.

It was still a reality in the southwestern frontier that bands of robbers appeared and robbed people of goods.

Therefore the public’s perception of the beast race was much worse than that of other sub-races.

There was no way for students to like that beast-race girl who was staring at her rank with an expressionless face.

They’re already upset that commoners are on top of them but there’s even a beastman tribe here?

The noble students glared at Iona Ovalley as if she were going to kill them.

It was unacceptable that the barbaric beastmen who were not even commoners had achieved such a high rank.

“Honestly isn’t that what they did?”

“That’s right. How could Yamanjong take 6th place? “He must have made some kind of lousy deal.”

“Now that I think about it even during the elemental class at that time Teacher Ludger said something to everyone else but he didn’t say anything to me.”

The animal ears on Iona Ovalley’s head twitched at the sound of a rustling sound behind her.

Because she had sensitive senses she could easily tell that the students were talking about themselves.

Iona Ovalley watched in silence a group of students who were gossiping about her with an expressionless face and then left.

Iona’s attitude actually fueled the behavior of students who were jealous of her.

“under. what. “Did you just see the look in his eyes?”

“You make eye contact with us and just leave?”

They stared at Iona’s back as she walked away and exchanged glances without saying a word.

Nodding his head his eyes shone faintly.

    * * *

    ‘hmm. Is this the framework?’

Leo who had received the framework from Ludger immediately after class recalled what had happened in the teacher’s office a little while ago.

-Is it Leo? You arrived quickly. you are the first

Did you say that he was the one who came to you first?

Ludger did indeed deliver the framework to him as promised.

‘It’s only a quarter of the price but it’s definitely a great magic.’

Although the framework was only a part of the source code its structure was very complex and carefully structured.

Is this really a recipe for making a drink?

Even Leo who was confident in his ability to use his brain gave up trying to analyze this.

‘This alone is not enough. ‘You have to collect all four to complete the spell so analyzing it right away is practically useless.’

Only then did I understand why Ludger gave these things to students.

The framework was a technique that did not matter if it was leaked.

With this alone no matter who comes proper magic cannot be revealed.

However it is also impossible to calculate the complete source code using the framework.

Because you cannot tell what a person looks like or what kind of life they have lived just by looking at their hand and shaking their hand.

    It’s a similar context.

‘No matter how much it is you created this kind of magic and then just gave it to the students. Mr. Ludger Chelisi. ‘What on earth was he doing?’

At first I thought it was just an ordinary fallen nobleman.

There have been many people in the past who tried to rebuild a fallen family regain its former reputation or make a name for themselves by becoming Seorn’s teacher.

    But Ludger Chelsea was different.

He made a name for himself but his methods were very different from those of existing people.

Existing teachers raised the value of their name by appealing to the fact that they had become Seorn’s teachers but Ludger did the opposite.

He showed off his extraordinary skills as if the title of Seorn’s teacher was okay.

‘It was said before that that his achievements were quite outstanding.’

When I actually encountered his abilities directly I realized that past evaluations were grossly underestimated.

With that level of skill there seemed to be no need to join Seorn. The title of Seorn’s teacher seems like a shackle to him.

    Leo was sure of that.

‘It’s funny that someone like that is a fallen nobleman. If I had that level of skill I would have been able to rebuild an already fallen family.’

    Leo was sure.

Mr. Ludger Chelisi is clearly someone who has something to hide.

There were more than one or two parts that were questionable including the werewolf crisis that occurred at that time and the coordinate designation magic shown in class.

I secretly checked Ludger’s movements and found out that he played a big role in the terrorist attack at the last banquet.

‘No matter how Seorn he is he is overly capable for a new teacher. It seems certain that he is a person of interest who must be watched closely.’

Leo thinking to himself was heading to the place where he had planned to meet Aidan when he noticed a commotion taking place on one side.

‘What is that? ‘What are they doing over there?’

Leo stopped walking and narrowed his eyes.

Because two boys and two girls were surrounding one girl.

Looking at their cuteness they were the noble students that Leo hated the most.

‘And the one surrounded by those nobles… is it Iona Ovalley?’

She a beastman girl was something that Leo also remembered.

There was no way I wouldn’t know who stood out the most in the classroom.

‘Now that I think about it when I looked at the rankings I was in 6th place right?’

He remembered that the person just below him who was in 5th place was Ionara.

For someone of such stature I must have studied quite hard and the score of over 90 was quite impressive.

Leo immediately understood why those nobles were surrounding Iona.

‘Because they can’t admit what they can’t do are they bothering easy opponents for no reason? It’s just a smug aristocratic way of thinking.’

The nobles’ behavior like that didn’t happen for a day or two.

    Leo thought for a moment.

I might not have noticed it if I had passed by without seeing it but I couldn’t just pass by when I found that situation.

‘If I just pretend not to notice and something happens later I’ll be the only one who feels uncomfortable.’

If it were him in the past he would have just passed by without even looking but it was different now.

‘Tsk. Aidan Is that idiot’s personality different? ‘I can’t help it.’

Leo thought it would be a good idea to step in and mediate.

Leo who was watching the scene with that thought in mind stiffened his face as if he felt something.

    His steps became faster.

    * * *

“hey. “Our words don’t even sound like words do they?”

“A smelly beastman who can’t even eat anywhere is taking the same classes as us? “It’s disgusting.”

Iona Ovalley looking at the students talking in front of her still had an expression of uncertainty.

The noble students were a little embarrassed and annoyed when her face didn’t change for a while.

He felt as if this arrogant beastman was ignoring him.

“You know what? “A barbarian like you has no place to complain no matter where he is mistreated.”

As if to prove that it was not just a verbal threat the male student who was the leader of the action showed magical power in his hands.

Electricity crackles and burns through my palm.

Iona stared at the scene silently.

“Do you understand? So don’t strain your neck and crawl around like you’re proud. “Because it smells like an animal.”

Iona who had been quiet until now opened her mouth for the first time.

    “If you don’t like it.”

    “what?”

“What are we going to do?”

Iona still had an expressionless face. However the noble student who was threatening her felt some kind of uneasiness at that sight.

    “You dirty barbarian!”

    “Stop it right?”

    At that moment Leo appeared.

    Everyone’s eyes turned to Leo.

    “What are you again?”

“Just stop there. Or do you want to go all the way?”

    “what?”

“That would be fun. The four of them persecuted Hana as a group and even threatened her with magic. “I saw it all.”

    “You now….”

“Did you know that teachers are keeping a close eye on the arrogant attitude of students from noble families recently? Don’t you remember Jevan Pelio? He dropped out a while ago. “Do you want to be like that?”

Leo kept running his mouth and pushing the noble students.

“Well if you don’t care about that you can just do what you just did. Instead you should be prepared. “I’m going to go get the framework from Mr. Ludger Chelisi now.”

    “…!”

When the name Ludger Chelisi was mentioned the noble students’ eyes widened.

No matter how fearless they may be their fear of Ludger was deeply ingrained.

From the beginning of the semester Ludger showed a tendency to never show respect even if the other person was a noble. Whether he knew it or not Ludger was a celebrity among aristocratic students.

They are so merciless in their harsh words towards Flora Lumos so wouldn’t it be great if it were them?

    Leo grinned.

“why? Don’t you keep doing it? “Wasn’t there something more to do?”

“You… don’t act like you’re good at studying when you’re a commoner. “Yes nothing will change.”

“Then please stop acting so proud.”

    “…Tch. let’s go.”

The noble students frowned and left.

Leo watched their disappearing backs and spoke to himself as if to listen.

“Ugh. “I can’t do anything on my own so I’m a person who runs around in droves so my pride is extremely strong.”

    “…Why did you help me?”

Iona Ovalley couldn’t bear it anymore and asked Leo.

She never thought she would get help from this classmate who was one head shorter than her.

Leo clicked his tongue as if it was a stupid question.

“Help me? me you? Don’t be mistaken. “I didn’t come forward because I was afraid something would happen to you.”

Leo sighed in annoyance as he looked at the beastman girl who was staring at him with an innocent gaze that still didn’t seem to know what she meant.

okay. You’re going to catch me right?

Leo stood in a crooked posture with his arms crossed and glared at Iona.

“you. “If I hadn’t intervened earlier I would have killed those guys.”

    “….”
