“The way you look today is the most handsome I’ve ever seen.” Jian Wuji said with a smile.

Hearing this, the Drunken Demon smiled in disbelief and casually responded, ”That’s because we haven’t met enough times. There are still a lot of handsome looks of mine that you haven’t seen before. First time meeting, Young Sect Master.”

Drunken Devil is such a person who likes to joke around and doesn’t hide his emotions. Sometimes, he seems to be a little weak.

But in reality, he was a person with an incredibly strong heart. It was precisely because he knew how to dissolve the negative emotions in his heart that he was able to become even stronger through one trial after another.

He was also a lonely person. Whenever he thought of him, the first image that surfaced in Jian Wuji’s mind was the scene of him sitting alone in a canoe, using a drunkenness to drown his sorrows.

“Big brother Drunken Devil has already promised to help you with everything, so let’s enjoy the snow in peace this time. You go and find out if there’s any good food nearby, it’s rare for us to come to the North Sea, so we should try the food here.” Jian Wu Ji turned his head to Li An and said.

“Let’s finish this bowl of noodles first.” Li An said with a smile, carrying the bowl of noodles and lightly leaping onto the roof of the carriage.

The three sat side by side on top of the wagon, eating steaming noodles.

“Huh? This noodle tastes good! Why is it so delicious?” The Drunken Demon praised as he ate it.

“Right? I was shocked as well, I thought that the Imperial Chef of the Heavenly Demon Hall had sneaked in to make it.” Jian Wuji laughed and chimed in.

Li An heard this and smiled happily, “Next time I’ll make something even better for you to eat.”

The three of them winded up eating all the noodles, not even the soup was left.

“Eat and drink enough, let’s set off!” Jian Wuji stood up and stretched.

“I’ll drive.” Li An said, leaping into the driver’s seat.

    “Depart!”

Sword Wuji and Drunken Demon then continued to sit on top of the carriage. With those three unconscious Blood Shadow Guards lying in the carriage, there really wasn’t much to see, so it would be better to sit outside and enjoy the cold wind.

“I suspect that this time, what happened in the Northern Blood Sect might be related to the death of the previous Palace Master.” The Drunken Devil said as he hurried along.

Jian Wuji nodded. These two things might just be coincidental, or perhaps someone had done it deliberately. But one thing was certain, and that was that the Blood King had already interfered in this matter. And the Blood King was an extremely difficult and dangerous opponent.

“The truth will always come out. The Northern Blood Sect and the Northern Sea Ice Palace, we will both resolve them and return in triumph.” Jian Wuji said in a firm tone.

    “Uh-huh.” Drunken Devil nodded.

“Ah, that’s wrong, it should be you who solves it and then we return in triumph.” Jian Wuji added with a smile.

The carriage sped across the vast snowy plains, heading in the direction of the North Sea Ice Palace.

Under the leadership of Cold Snow, Jian Wuji, Li An and Drunken Devil arrived at the Ice Palace Lord’s chambers.

The Ice Palace had already agreed to their conditions, so they had made this trip to formally pay their respects to the Ice Palace Master.

Li An was so nervous when he heard that he was going to meet the Ice Palace Lord before, but now that he saw the crystal clear and colorful ice crystal stairs, he was immediately attracted by the scene before him and exclaimed, “This Ice Palace is really beautiful!”

Unlike Li An, Jian Wuji, however, felt a faint trace of killing aura on this ice crystal staircase. This killing aura did not come from a human, but from some sort of organ.

“There are organs here.” Jian Wuji said in his heart.

These ice crystal steps were crystal clear, and with a single glance, one could see all the way to the bottom, and it was impossible to see where there were any organs. How on earth these beautiful ice walls, steps and pillars could defend against foreign enemies, he really couldn’t imagine.

It’s no longer an organ, it’s art.

Because of this, a trace of ominous foreboding rose in Jian Wuji’s heart. He felt that this ice palace’s mechanism was more dangerous than any mechanism he had encountered before. Even Li An, an expert in the “Flying Sword Technique”, did not detect any abnormalities.

The three of them followed Cold Snow and arrived at the Ice Palace Lord’s chambers.

“Greetings to the Palace Master.” Jian Wuji was the first to bow and salute, his tone respectful.

The Ice Palace Master also owed a slight bow and returned the salute, “The Young Sect Master has traveled a long way, it’s been hard work.”

Jian Wuji had met the Ice Palace Master in his previous life, but that was a long time later.

At that time, the Ice Palace Master had long since ceased to be the cold and noble of the past, but was full of sorrow and tears.

    Because her daughter, she’s dead.

As for the Ice Palace Master, this was her first meeting with Jian Wuji. She had finally met this young man who had repeatedly surprised her.

The Ice Palace Master carefully observed Jian Wuji’s eyes and aura as she said in her heart, “He really did those things? This young man?”

Jian Wuji did not deliberately hide his strength, but he was not unreserved either. He had already reached the realm of returning to the basics, and between his hands and feet, he naturally exuded a powerful aura.

“Is everything alright with the Sect Master?” The Ice Palace Lord asked.

“Everything is fine with my father, thank you for your concern, Palace Lord.” Jian Wuji smiled and replied, “I wonder if Palace Master and my father were ever acquainted?”

“There was a meeting many years ago.” The Ice Palace Lord said indifferently.

That meeting, even though it was only a hurried glance, made her remember it deeply. Perhaps it was because the Heavenly Demon Sect Master’s deep and sharp eyes were too impressive.

“Everything is fine with my father, please don’t worry Palace Master.” Jian Wuji said.

“I heard that the Young Sect Master has recently caused quite a storm in the Jianghu, those things, were they all planned by you?” The Ice Palace Lord asked.

The talks between good and evil were not a secret, and it made sense that the Ice Palace Master would know about it.

“Since I have the honor of meeting the Palace Master today, next time the talks are held, I would like to ask the Palace Master to have the honor of attending as well. At that time, I will also invite Sect Master Feng Lei to come along.” Jian Wuji said.

With these words, I don’t know if they were true or not, but the Ice Palace Master still nodded and said, “The Young Sect Master has a heart.”

“Is the Palace Master serious about this?” Jian Wuji reconfirmed.

Is it really possible for good and evil to talk again, plus the Wind and Thunder Sect Leader?

“The Young Sect Master can just notify as much as he wants.” The Ice Palace Lord said indifferently.

“Then I will wait for the good news.” Jian Wuji said with a smile.

After exchanging pleasantries with Jian Wuji, the Ice Palace Master greeted the Drunken Demon again.

    “Venerable Drunken Demon, goodbye.”

    “It’s been a long time.”

    “You remember me?”

    “Of course I remember.”

The Drunken Devil had also met the Ice Palace Master a long time ago, when he was not yet a Devil Sovereign and the Ice Palace Master was not yet a Palace Master.

The Ice Palace Master at that time was very different from now. Now, she was as cold and noble as an ice sculpture, making it difficult for people to approach her. Whereas back then, she was a pure and unassuming young girl, dressed in white, just like a fairy.

What made her what she is now? Is it the cold winds of the North Sea? Or was it the vicissitudes she endured to guard the Ice Palace?

“Time flies, life is like a dream, it passes in an instant.” Drunken Devil lamented.

“Yeah.” The Ice Palace Lord nodded, deeply sympathetic.

Finally, Jian Wu Ji introduced Li An.

    “This is my subordinate.”

The Ice Palace Master had long since learned from the reports of her spies that Jian Wuji had brought a subordinate who had gotten into trouble. She was still a bit puzzled at the time as to why Jian Wuji did not conceal this matter, but instead made it public.

“Greetings to the Palace Master.” Li An respectfully saluted.

The Ice Palace Master once again carefully sized up Li An and said in her heart, “This woman, why is she so beautiful?”

Perhaps because Li An’s beauty was too dazzling, the Ice Palace Master couldn’t help but look at her a few more times.

“Why would such a beautiful woman do something like that?” The Ice Palace Lord asked.

“I’m sorry, it’s because I’m inexperienced and have handled things poorly, please forgive me, Palace Master.” Li An sincerely apologized.

Although there were many things she wanted to say in her heart, she ultimately chose to remain silent. After all, the Ice Palace Master did not hold her responsible.

“Although she was inexperienced, she acted cautiously and managed to save the Northern Blood Sect disciples.” Jian Wuji explained for Li An.

“On the contrary, it is the Northern Blood Sect that acts so rashly, treating human lives like grass.” Jian Wuji said, his gaze looking straight at the Ice Palace Master, observing her reaction.

He wanted to test whether or not the Ice Palace Master knew about the secret plans being carried out by the Northern Blood Sect.

“What does the Young Preceptor mean by this? Old me doesn’t quite understand.” The Ice Palace Lord said without changing her color.

From the look on her face, it seemed like she really didn’t know anything about it.

“This matter is a long story, so I’ll explain it in detail to the Palace Master next time.” Jian Wuji did not continue to pursue the matter.

Now was not the time to irritate the Ice Palace Master, the priority was to investigate the death of the previous Palace Master.

Appeasing the Drunken Demon was just as important as dealing with the Blood King, if not more so.

He had to investigate the death of the former Palace Master while solving the problem of the Blood King. Even if the North Sea was bleeding to death, he had to accomplish both goals. Because evil had to be punished, and life was incredibly precious.

“Is Mr. Yang still well?” The Ice Palace Lord turned her head and asked Cold Snow.

“Back to the Palace Master, everything is fine with Mr. Yang.”

“Take Mr. Yang down to rest, then arrange accommodation for the three honored guests.”

    “Yes.”

“I heard that Venerable Drunken Devil wants to investigate the death of the former Palace Master of White Drunken Snow?” The Ice Palace Master looked at Drunken Devil and asked.

    “Exactly.”

“The death of the White Palace Master is indeed regrettable, but I’m afraid that my old self will not be able to give Your Holiness too much time to investigate this matter.”

The implication is that an expulsion order may be issued at any time.
