    Chapter Index

“Are you kissing my ass?” Sect Leader Windsky asked with a smile.

“Of course not, I’m just being honest.” I said.

“Since you’re so sincere, I’ll reluctantly accept you as my disciple.” Sect Master Windsky said, casting a temporal illusion and bringing me into his illusionary realm.

In the beginning, when I learned the time and space illusion from him, I once said that in this illusion, he was my master.

“Disciple, what troubles you?” Sect Master Windsky asked, a hint of teasing in his tone.

Instead of answering his question, I looked around the room.

It was a sea of corpses and blood, with broken limbs and rivers of blood everywhere.

“Why did you bring me to a place like this? What kind of place is this?” I asked.

“I think that this place suits you.” Sect Leader Windsky said.

I knew that he wasn’t joking, so I asked seriously, “Do you think that, inside, that’s what I am?”

Sect Master Windsky looked at me and asked rhetorically, “Isn’t it true that every time you’ve gotten stronger, it’s always because you’ve experienced battles of life and death?”

Sect Master Windsky, indeed, was someone who was born to kill.

“I’m sorry, my heart, it’s not like that.”

I snapped my fingers in the manner of Sect Leader Windy Sky. He liked to snap his fingers every time he cast a temporal illusion.

    Swish!

The scene changes and we come to a meadow full of flowers, white petals, dancing beautifully in the wind.

“Inside of me, yes.” I said.

Sect Master Windsky looked around and asked with a smile, “You’re not trying to escape reality and hide in a place like this, are you?”

    I didn’t retort, I just smiled.

Sect Master Windy Sky bent down to pick up a petal and said, “Sometimes, I can’t tell, where is the reality and where is the illusion, I want to stay here forever, perhaps, this is my heart’s demon? What about you?”

“Me too, sometimes, I want to leave everything behind and hide in this place, which, makes me feel at ease.” I said.

In my fantasy realm, there is warm sunshine, blue sea, white sandy beaches, and cozy lounge chairs. Sect Leader Windsky, must also have his own illusionary realm.

“If you treat this place, as a haven, it becomes a paradise; if you treat this place, as an escape from reality, it becomes hell. Whether it’s here, or the world outside, it’s all the same.”

Sect Master Windsky threw the petals in his hand, into the air, and asked, “I’ll ask you one more time, what exactly are you thinking? What do you want from that woman, what do you want?”

His eyes were filled with worry. I appreciate his concern, but I can’t tell him about the Illusory King.

“You always cause trouble, to the point where you’ve even attracted people who want to control the Soul Regenerating Demon.” Sect Leader Windsky said.

“You say that as if I deliberately provoked them.” I said.

“If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have known that they existed at all, so it’s because of you that they appeared.” Sect Leader Windsky said.

His words, though somewhat forceful, have some truth to them. If it wasn’t for me, Phantom Lü might have stayed hidden in the Majestic Village and not been discovered by us.

“This matter, which is related to the Blood Sect, will be left to me.” Sect Master Windsky said.

I know that he was trying to protect me and he wanted to take all the responsibility. And I’m grateful to him for that.

    “Bishop, I have a question.” I said.

“What problem?” Sect Leader Windsky asked.

“What are the weaknesses of those who practice Dementia?” I asked.

Sect Master Windsky looked at me with a blank expression and asked, “Why are you asking this? Could it be that you also want to capitalize on my weakness?”

“I just want to, take the bad stuff and throw it all away.” I said with a smile.

“Gao Yue, take a look, this is the Young Sect Leader you worship, I told you a long time ago that he is a vicious Young Sect Leader.” Sect Leader Feng Tian said.

I know that Sect Leader Windy Sky has already guessed why I am asking this question.

“This matter, leave it to me, what exactly do you want from that woman, what do you want?” Sect Leader Windsky asked.

Sect Leader Windy Sky began to pace, and I followed him silently.

As he walked, he reminisced about the past.

“I’ll never forget the first time I managed to cast a Dementor Technique, and all those who practice Dementor Techniques will have this feeling. How amazing is it to be able to control someone’s mind? But after you succeed a few times, you start to get scared and you worry, what if someone is stronger than you and controls your mind?”

Xu Dalong had once said that the Soul Regenerating Demon, was the most terrifying Demon, because you didn’t know, when, you would be controlled by him and turned into his puppet. Instead of being controlled and living a life worse than death, it would be better to die painfully under the enemy’s sword.

“You know what? What happens when you overcome that fear?” Sect Leader Windy Sky asked.

I listened quietly and didn’t say anything.

“You would think that the human heart, is so fragile, you would think that the human will, is so insignificant. Do you know? What happens when you have such thoughts?” Sect Leader Windsky asked.

Sect Leader Windy Sky stopped and looked at me.

“You would think that everyone is ridiculous.” Sect Leader Windy Sky said.

He seemed to regret that he had ever had that thought, and his gaze, looked away.

“When you feel that everyone is ridiculous, you will feel that the world, too, is ridiculous.” Sect Leader Windsky said.

“How did you overcome this demon of the mind?” I asked.

“Overcome? I didn’t overcome.” Sect Leader Windsky said.

    He freely admitted his failure.

“Do you think that after becoming an expert, you will change? That’s like saying that when people get old, they become wise, it’s all unfounded speculation. Only a wise young man will become a wise old man.” Sect Master Windsky said.

He sighed, and it was the first time, I had ever seen him sigh.

“If it were you, even if you practiced the most powerful Dementor Technique, you wouldn’t take anyone lightly. But for us ordinary people, it’s different, controlling someone’s mind comes with a price.” Sect Master Windsky said.

Perhaps, he was saying that he had once imprisoned Gao Yue, restricting his freedom.

I know that although he says, he hasn’t overcome his demons, he has changed, he no longer despises anyone, he has begun to respect Gao Yue.

“Deep inside that woman’s heart, she must be filled with arrogance, conceit and emptiness, she will despise you, despise everyone, despise this world, inside her heart, there must be a huge empty hole.” Sect Leader Windy Sky said.

    The hollow inside.

I know what it feels like, because in my past life, I had that same void, a bottomless pit that could never be filled.

Sect Master Windsky suddenly said, “Thank you.”

He thinks that he is the one who helped me and filled the hole inside.

“If it wasn’t for you, I would still, right now, be trapped on the Windy Sky Sect’s Sect Leader’s throne, worrying every day, if I would lose my treasure, I would have kept Gao Yue, imprisoned by my side, and never let him go free. At that time, I thought that I was living the happiest life, but in reality, I wasn’t happy, and looking back now, I was the one who was imprisoned.” Sect Leader Windy Sky said.

Countless white petals, falling from the sky, landed on us.

“Well? Did my words help you?” Sect Leader Windsky asked.

How can I thank him for telling me his weaknesses, unreservedly?

    “Thank you Master.” I said.

When Sect Leader Feng Tian heard my words, he laughed out loud, as if all those worries he had just had, had dissipated.

“Shall we stay a little longer?” Sect Leader Windsky asked.

I stayed with him for a while before leaving the illusion. Inside the illusion, it was a warm spring day, but outside, it was already winter.

I came to the Demon Dragon Court, where the Demon Army resides.

The passing demon armies, seeing me, saluted me.

I haven’t seen them in a long time.

They were no longer those scattered devil armies from before, their eyes, became sharp, and their steps, became neatly organized.

It’s all because of this man.

    “Young Prelate, welcome back.”

Demon Monarch Zhang Hao, majestically stood in front of me. The change in his identity has changed his entire person, he has changed, he is more mature, more stable, and more suitable for the position of Demon Monarch than before.

“General Zhang, I miss you.” I said.

“I should have gone to pay my respects to you first, sorry.” Zhang Hao said.

“You’ve been busy lately, don’t worry about the niceties, it’s idle people like me who have time to run around.” I said with a smile.

Zhang Hao smiled back, he knew how busy I had been lately, even if he wanted to see me, he couldn’t find a chance.
