    Chapter Index

In order to get into that flower garden naturally, I needed a little help.

    “Are you moving?”

Eve asked, looking up from the piles of clothes and luggage and looking at me.

    “You’re here?”

She is preparing for her departure from the religion, and she is going to meet Xu Jin, the brother of Ghost Spirit – Xu Jin.

“There are so many things to prepare when going out. A change of clothes, and clothes to wear for formal occasions, dry food to eat on the road, I’ve brought the Golden Sore Pill and the Antidote Pill, so I shouldn’t need to bring medicine to cure water and soil disorders, right? The map is also brought, and ……”

“What are these?” I asked, pointing to several packages on the floor.

“Oh, this is pots and pans for camping, and spices. This one is furs for laying on the ground to sleep on.” Eve said.

I took the pots and pans that were in the package and took them all out.

“Don’t make dishes that require the use of these things, and just bring salt for the seasonings. What’s this one?” I asked, pointing to another package.

“A book to read when you can’t sleep.” Eve said.

“When did you become such a book lover? Only bring one book!” I said.

I helped her unpack, or rather, help her reduce her luggage.

“When are you leaving?” I asked.

“I am on my way to take my leave of you in the morning.” Eve said.

    “You’re going alone?” I asked.

“Yes, I want to convince her as a woman.” Eve said.

If the Ghost Shadow Team could get the help of the Ghost Sect’s heir – Xu Jin – their strength would be greatly increased. Xu Jin was proficient in formation and ghost arts, an unrivaled talent.

“Even if you take more luggage, you can still take these, right? Here, try this.”

I handed something, to Eve. It was a belt with tiny daggers sticking out of it.

“I specially asked Master Blacksmith Guo to build this, so you can use it for defense when you encounter danger. Consider it your gift for leaving the school.” I said.

“Thank you, Young Master!” Eve said in surprise.

She took the belt and tied it around her waist, then quickly drew four daggers and threw them toward the wall.

Four daggers, each stuck in the wall, and if a human figure was drawn on the wall, the four daggers, stuck right where the limbs were.

From her waist, I pulled a dagger and threw it towards the wall.

The dagger, plunged into the neck of the humanoid.

    “Always aim here.” I said.

I was reminding her to be ruthless with her enemies.

“Mark my words, a moment of weakness on your part could get someone killed.” I said.

Eve nodded and drew another dagger, throwing it towards the wall.

The dagger, stuck next to the one I threw.

    I nodded in satisfaction.

Eve took the dagger, all the way back to her waist.

“I love this gift, thank you, young master.” Eve said.

“No need to save it, I’ll build it for you when it runs out.” I said.

“I’ll be careful, don’t worry.” Eve said.

“Of course I’m relieved, you’re the personal maid of the young master of the Heavenly Demon Sect, and you’re also the righteous daughter of the Fist Demon, so what do I have to worry about? In that case, why don’t we go for a walk?” I said.

“I’m busy, you see, and there are so many things to pack. Why don’t you help me pick up the things on the floor, and the clothes that are hanging there, and bring them over for me too.” Eve said.

“How dare you refuse the invitation of the Heavenly Demon Sect’s Young Lord, how audacious!” I said with a smile.

I knew that Eve was joking with me.

“Even if you asked me to accompany you to the ends of the earth, I would.” Eve said with a smile.

She walked to my side and tried to take my arm, but then suddenly stopped. In the past, she would often take my arm or let me carry her, but since I became a Young Sect Leader, she seemed to be a bit more restrained.

We stepped out of the room and the guards, who were standing outside the door, saluted Eve.

Eve also returned their greetings. Both of my close forces, between each other, have a somewhat subtle rivalry, and to be precise, it’s Chiltern who cares more about Eve.

Eve was a little puzzled to see the guards following.

She must not have expected that I would take an escort and walk with her.

I didn’t tell her ahead of time because the outing wasn’t just for a walk, it was for official business.

We left the Heavenly Devil Cult and came to Ma’s village.

It’s been a long time since I’ve taken a walk with Eve, and I felt happy. As we strolled through the bazaar and chatted, without realizing it, we arrived at the Wind and Moon Tavern. I walked straight through the entrance of the Wind and Moon Tavern, and Eve asked with some surprise, “Aren’t we going to the Wind and Moon Tavern?”

    “No go.” I said.

She must have thought that we came to Ma’s village just to go to the Wind and Moon Restaurant.

We continued on and came to the small flower garden mentioned in Xu Dalong’s report.

“Go buy a pot of flowers, the kind that bloom even in winter.” I said.

“You mean, to give me a pot of flowers?” Eve asked in surprise.

I nodded, and she was happier than when she received the dagger.

“This is the first time I’ve ever gotten flowers as a gift!” Eve said.

I let the guards go in first to check it out before I joined Eve and walked into the flower garden.

A woman with a kind face, holding a pot of flowers in her hand, walked out from the backyard.

She saw us and froze for a moment, then set the flower pot on the ground.

I looked at her with a sudden flutter in my mind.

“I think I’ve seen her somewhere.”

I had a sense of familiarity with her, but I couldn’t recall where exactly I’d seen her before.

I certainly wasn’t impressed with her because I had bought her flowers.

“There must be something wrong with her.”

I secretly observed her aura, and if I hadn’t deliberately observed it, I wouldn’t have realized that she was actually a martial artist. She hid it well.

It seems that my guess was right.

The reason why Situ Zong came here so often was because of this woman. If they were just ordinary joints, they wouldn’t meet so frequently. Situ Zong must be learning something from her.

“Boss lady, this beautiful girl, wants to buy a pot of flowers, do you have any recommendations?” I asked.

The woman said respectfully, “Of course, we have plenty of flowers here for this girl, please follow me.”

She brought Eve, to the flower stand and began to introduce the various flowers. Her knowledge of flowers, was very rich, and she looked, like an experienced florist.

“It’s amazing that she was able to disguise herself so perfectly, I should be impressed with her.”

My mind was filled with doubts as I began to scrutinize the flower garden, trying to find some clues. When I was in Bo Qianjing’s workshop, I felt the eerie aura emanating from those dolls. But the flowers, plants, and trees here all looked normal.

She is not any of the twelve earthly branches.

Could it be that I met her when I was wandering the jungle? Or did I meet her when I was searching for ingredients to make a potion?

I began to watch her body type, trying to pick up some clues from her size and gait, but I still came up empty.

By this time, Eve had chosen a pot of flowers.

“The owner’s wife said that this pot has the longest bloom period and, the flowers are very beautiful.” Eve said.

She suddenly remembered something and said, “By the way, I’m leaving teaching tomorrow.”

I smiled and said, “We have a professional gardener, don’t worry.”

Eve knew who I was talking about and nodded with a smile.

I paid, then took Eve and left the flower garden.

The woman might have been puzzled by my sudden visit.

But she must be confused right now because I didn’t tell Eve why I brought her here, and besides, Eve really seemed to like the pot of flowers.

I also made it a point to bring an escort, so if I was here to investigate something, I wouldn’t be so gung-ho about it.
