Chapter 0094 – Because We Know, We Fight – Absolute Returns
by GreatBrother(위대한 다오 형제)Before I set out to visit the Extremely Evil Evil Demon, I decided to make a trip to the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon’s residence first, there were some things I needed to confirm with him.
As soon as he stepped into the courtyard, he saw that the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon was sitting leisurely by the window, bathing in the warm sunlight, and holding a scroll in his hand, with a look of contentment.
“Elder actually has such a taste for reading, do you love to read in your normal life as well?” I opened my mouth and asked.
“It’s just a pretense,” the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon put down his scroll with a hint of self-deprecation in his tone, “As long as I hear the sound of your brat’s footsteps coming from afar, I’ll immediately hide in the pile of books.”
“I don’t know what Elder has summoned me here for?” I did not walk into the house, but stood at the bottom of the steps outside the window, arching my hand and asking.
“I have come here because I want to inquire about someone from senior,” I paused and my tone became solemn, “I wonder if senior has ever heard of the name ‘Extremely Evil Evil Demon’?”
As soon as the words left my mouth, I was keenly aware that the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon’s figure trembled slightly.
“What are you inquiring about him for?” There was a hint of imperceptible tension in the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon’s tone.
“I want to bring him over to our side.” I replied frankly.
The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon’s brows furrowed slightly, a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone, “You brat, you really can’t hide your words, could it be that that old fellow One Flower Sword Venerable has told you everything?”
“Seniors are wise,” I didn’t deny it, and anyway, with the character of the One Flower Sword Venerable, I wouldn’t go around announcing this matter, “Indeed, it was the Sword Venerable seniors who informed me of this matter, saying that it was for the sake of the seniors that I was informed of this matter.”
“Hmph, his hypocritical demeanor is just out of his evilable moral cleanliness, what does it have to do with me?” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon snorted coldly, clearly scoffing at the words of the One Flower Sword Venerable.
“Since the two seniors are so familiar with each other, why is there this sword fighting?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“As the saying goes, if we don’t fight, we won’t get to know each other,” the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon gave me a meaningful look, “If we didn’t understand each other, how could we fight?”
His words seemed absurd, yet they were irrefutable, and I could only be helplessly evil.
“Speak, what do you want to ask?” Seeing my silence, the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon asked bluntly.
“I want to know, how did senior convince the Extremely Evil Evil Demon in the first place?” I finally asked the purpose of this trip.
“He took the initiative to find me.” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon’s reply was out of my expectation.
“What? It was the Extremely Evil Evil Demon that came to you of its own accord?” I asked in surprise.
“What else do you think?” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon said without a trace of anger, “I have nothing better to do than beg that old monster for help?”
“It seems that Swordfather senior guessed wrong this time.” I said thoughtfully.
“What did he say?” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon pursued.
“He said that senior and the Extremely Evil Evil Demon are the same evil demon, and that it should be easier to communicate with each other.” I answered truthfully.
“Nonsense! Who is a raccoon with him?” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon changed color explosively, clearly infuriated by the words of the One Flower Sword Venerable.
I had a dark evil in my heart, and this seemingly provocative talk was actually part of my plan to bring about a reconciliation between the two.
I want to keep this subtle connection between the two of them at all times, to make them aware of each other’s existence, to make them realize that even if they don’t see eye to eye with each other, they still have a place in each other’s lives. I believe that one day, when the right opportunity arises, these pieces will be put back together again, and ultimately dissolve the feud between them. After all, there is no such thing as love without a cause, or hate without a cause, or reconciliation overnight.
“What exactly is that Extremely Evil Evil Demon’s offer?” I continued to ask.
“He said that he would cast his vote for you, and in exchange, if he asks for help in the future, he hopes that I will come to my aid.” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon replied.
“Aren’t you afraid he’ll make any excessive demands later?” I asked.
“If he’s doing it for his own sake, he’ll naturally come to me for help, but if it’s a request that’s too much, I naturally won’t agree to it.” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon said in a flat tone.
“Why don’t you tell me about this? It’s also good for me to accept a favor from you, so that I can repay you later.” I couldn’t help but complain.
“A trivial matter, what’s so trivial about it?” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon said without thinking.
Looking at the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon in front of me, who was a different person from when I first met him, I couldn’t help but feel a lot of emotions.
When I first met him, he gave me the impression that he was a calculating and sophisticated person who seemed to weigh the pros and cons of everything he did carefully, fearing that he would suffer.
However, when I really got into his inner world, I realized that there was another side of him that I didn’t know. He could leave all those calculations and scheming behind and simply enjoy the peace brought by sunshine and books.
“Elder, there are some things that you don’t say out loud, how will others know?” I said meaningfully.
“There’s no need for that,” the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon waved his hand, “Since he didn’t take the initiative to mention it, it means that he’s not doing it to make me owe him a favor. Perhaps he has another purpose as well. ……”
When the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon said this, he suddenly stopped and looked deeply into the distance, seemingly pondering something.
“In that case, the late generation will take their leave first.” I bowed my hand to the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon and prepared to move on to the Evil Man Valley.
“Go.” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon faintly answered, picking up the scrolls on the table again, seemingly having already put my visit behind him.
“Aren’t you worried that I’ll be in danger on this trip?” I couldn’t help but turn around and ask as I walked to the door.
“Worry about who? Worry about you? Or worried about that old monster?” The Blood Heavenly Dao Demon asked rhetorically without lifting his head.
I couldn’t help but laugh at that, turning around and walking out of the room.
After leaving the Blood Heavenly Dao Demon’s residence, I walked straight towards the Evil Man Valley to the northeast of the inner courtyard.
As the name suggests, the Valley of the Wicked was a valley, but it was not naturally formed, rather it was artificially excavated. A clear stream meandered through the valley, and on both sides of the stream were scattered houses of various sizes, which were the residences of those faceless guests.
These houses appeared to have been built randomly and without any rules and regulations to speak of, but in reality, they were carefully planned according to the strength and status of each faceless guest, as well as the need to defend against foreign invasion, making it an easily defensible and difficult to attack fortress.
After I made my intentions known at the entrance of the valley, a faceless guest wearing a white mask on his head led me into the valley.
The men of the Evil Demon are called “Faceless Guests”, and each of them wears a white mask that reveals only two eyes, and the shape of the eye holes is like an inverted crescent moon, as if they are always pointing at you with a slight evil intent.
However, in stark contrast to the slightly evil eye holes were the cold and merciless eyes under the mask. This bizarre combination would send shivers down one’s spine at first sight.
Along the stream, I finally arrived in front of a building located in the deepest part of the valley. The shape of this building was built according to the white mask, and in the position of the “eyes”, there were two huge windows, so it must be the residence of the Evil Demon.
It was with trepidation that I walked through the “mouth” shaped door and into this spooky building.
Picking my way up the circling staircase, I finally arrived at the room of the Very Evil Evil Demon.
However, the moment I stepped into the room, an inexplicable chill instantly swept through my body.
The room was empty, all four walls and the floor were painted white, there was no furniture or decoration, not even a chair or a futon.
In this pure white space, the Extremely Evil Evil Demon was the only one standing alone.
He had his back to me, dressed in white, and if it weren’t for a strand of long black hair peeking out at the back of his head, I would have almost blended him in with his surroundings.
When I walked into the room, he remained motionless, as if he hadn’t even noticed my arrival. I had to cough lightly and walk over to him, standing alongside him.
“What is Elder looking at?” I asked softly.
The Extremely Evil Evil Demon slowly turned his head, revealing a white mask that was different from those Faceless Guests. Through the curved moon-like eye holes, I could feel his clear and icy gaze.
It is said that the Evil Demon’s mask is specially made so that his eyes cannot be seen from the outside. However, my “Divine Eye Technique” can penetrate all darkness and see his eyes clearly.
“I didn’t see anything.” The Extremely Evil Evil Demon’s voice was low and thick, giving off an inexplicable sense of oppression. His tall stature and slender limbs, on the other hand, emphasized his outstanding temperament.
The feeling he gave people was completely inconsistent with the name of “Extremely Evil Evil Demon”, instead, he looked like a gentle and modest gentleman.
However, it is this contrast that makes it all the more creepy.
“It’s been a long time, senior.” I bowed slightly and saluted him.
As a matter of fact, this should be considered my first official meeting with the Extremely Evil Evil Demon. Prior to this, I had only seen him a few times from afar on some public occasions, and had never come into close contact like this.
“Senior? Hehe, I can’t afford this title, you and I are of similar age, how about calling ourselves brothers?” The Extremely Evil Evil Demon let out a light laugh, with a hint of teasing in his tone.
“Elder said evil, your name is as good as a thunderclap, how would I dare to call you brother?” I politely declined.
“Oh? I wonder how many people, because of gullibly believing these words of mine, have ended up dying in the Yellow Springs?” There was a hint of unspeakable coldness in the evil voice of the Extremely Evil Evil Demon.
“I wonder then, Your Excellency, which kind of person is it? Are you used to deceiving others, or are you used to being deceived by others?” The Extremely Evil Evil Demon asked with interest.
