    Chapter Index

    He looked very funny.

“What’s wrong with you?” I looked at Zhao Chunpei and asked with a smile “Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?”

“No, it’s nothing.” Zhao Chunpei hurriedly said “I, just worried about spilling the dishes.”

“You didn’t used to be like that.” I laughed “You used to be able to fly around the tavern.”

Zhao Chunpei smiled awkwardly at his words and didn’t say anything.

He placed the dishes on the table and then said, “Enjoy your meal, both of you, I’ll go down first.”

He turned to leave when he finished.

He didn’t even dare to look at his father more than once.

He was afraid he wouldn’t be able to resist falling to his knees.

“What’s wrong with him?” Father asked, looking at me.

“He’s just a little nervous.” I said with a smile.

“Nervous?” My father asked, looking at me “What is he nervous about?”

“He’s nervous about you.” I said with a smile.

“Me?” My father asked, looking at me “What do I have to be nervous about?”

“You are the Heavenly Demon Sect Sect Master.” I said as I looked at my father.

“Oh.” Father said with a nod “I almost forgot.”

He picked up his chopsticks, took a piece of the dish, put it in his mouth, and savored it.

“Tastes good.” He said with a nod.

“You can come back more often if you like.” I said with a smile.

“Good.” Father said with a nod.

We ate and chatted as father and son, and the atmosphere was very cordial.

“Why do you want to pull in Sect Leader Windy Sky?” Father suddenly asked.

“I want to pull him out of the Eight Devils.” I said looking at my father.

    “Why?” Father asked.

“Because he’s a destabilizing factor.” I said looking at my father.

“You mean he’ll betray the Heavenly Demon Cult?” Father asked.

“No, he won’t betray the Heavenly Devil Cult.” I shook my head and said “He will betray the Eight Devil Sovereigns.”

    “Why?” Father asked.

“Because he’s ambitious.” I said as I looked at my father “He wasn’t willing to just be a Serbian overlord, he wanted more.”

“How do you know?” Father asked.

“I know him.” I said looking at my father.

“You know him?” My father looked at me and asked “Do you know him well?”

“Not familiar.” I said, shaking my head, “But I know his character, I know his ambitions.”

“You mean he’ll be our enemy?” Father asked.

“No, he won’t be our enemy.” I said shaking my head “He will be our ally.”

“An ally?” Father asked, looking at me “Are you sure?”

    “I’m sure.” I said with a nod.

“Where do you get your confidence from?” Father asked.

“From my strength, from my wisdom, from my judgment.” I said looking at my father.

My father looked at me with appreciation and relief in his eyes.

“You’ve really grown up.” He said with a smile.

“Yes, I grew up.” I said with a nod.

“You’re good.” He said with a smile.

“Thanks for the compliment father.” I said with a smile.

“I’m relieved.” He said with a smile.

“I’m glad too.” I said with a smile.

We, father and son, smiled at each other and it all came together.

“Why did you stop the Wind and Sky Cult from marching into the Central Plains?” I asked.

“Because the time is not ripe.” Father said.

“The time is not ripe?” I asked, “What is ripe?”

“When I’m ready.” Father said looking at me.

There was a gleam in his eyes that I had never seen before.

    That’s the glow of ambition!

“Father, what do you mean ……,” I asked, looking at my father.

“You’ll find out soon enough.” My father looked at me and smiled.

He didn’t tell me the answer.

But I knew that he already had a plan in mind.

    A grand plan!

“I look forward to that day.” I said looking at my father.

“Me too.” My father looked at me and smiled.

Once again, we father and son raised our glasses and shared a drink.

Our hearts are filled with anticipation.

    Looking forward to that day!

We, father and son, ate and drank our fill and left the restaurant.

“Father, take your time.” I said looking at my father.

“You go home early and rest too.” Father said looking at me.

“Good.” I said with a nod.

I watched my father leave, then turned and walked into the Windjammer.

“Boss, check out.” I said to Zhao Chunpei.

“Young Lord, your spending today is free.” Zhao Chunpei said with a smile.

“Waiver?” I looked at Jo Chunbae and asked “Why?”

“It is an honor for you to bring the Sect Leader to my restaurant for dinner today.” Zhao Chunpei said with a smile.

“How is this good?” I said.

“Young Lord, don’t be polite.” Zhao Chunpei smiled and said “This is what I should do.”

“Thank you then.” I said with a smile.

I turned and left the Windy House.

I walked down the street and looked around me with emotion.

My life has been turned upside down.

I’m no longer that wimpy, incompetent teenager.

I’ve grown into a strong, confident man.

My future is full of endless possibilities!

I want to seize every opportunity to create my own glory!
