Chapter 0067 – This is the Time We Live In – The Absolute Return
by GreatBrother(위대한 다오 형제)On the following day, I went to the Heavenly Demon Hall to pay my respects to my father.
The purpose of my trip was to report to him about Sect Leader Windy Sky.
Although he knows everything that happens within the Sect, me coming to report in person has a very different meaning than Sima Ming reporting to him.
When I arrived at the Heavenly Demon Hall, my father was in closed-door cultivation.
I then waited outside the temple, and in a short while, I received a transmission from my father.
“Come in.”
That voice, it came from Fai, my father’s personal guard. It has been a long time since I have heard his voice.
“Uncle Fai, long time no see.” I said.
“Second Prince.” Fai responded briefly.
I vaguely remember that when I was a child, I used to hold Fai’s hand and wander around the streets of the Magic Family Village, pestering him to buy me various snacks. That memory still brings back memories for me.
“Uncle Fai, let’s have dinner together sometime, my treat.” I said.
“Good.”
“No need to be formal, just think of me as a late bloomer.” I said.
I don’t know what he would think of my gesture of goodwill, or what kind of attitude he would have towards me. The good memories may be just my wishful thinking, but for him, it’s just a dull routine.
But I had to get on good terms with him because he was the one my father trusted the most.
I straightened my clothes and walked into the training chamber.
As expected, my father attacked me again with the “Hades Step”.
I used my “Instantaneous Step” to dodge, and at the same time swung my Black Magic Sword to block my father’s Heavenly Magic Sword. This was the first collision between the Black Magic Sword and the Heavenly Demon Sword, and it was even more dangerous than just dodging. Father saw the change in me at a glance.
“Your cultivation, it’s refined quite a bit!” Father exclaimed.
The “Underworld Steps” he performed this time were more powerful than before, but I blocked his attack in a more dangerous way.
“Of course my cultivation should be refined, I am the most diligent within the Church. No, it should be the second most diligent, Ian is more diligent than me.” I said with a smile.
“Why don’t you say you’re the third hardest worker?” Father asked with a smile.
From his tone, I could sense that he had been practicing the “Four Steps of the Wind God”.
“Father, you’ve done a great job, you must cultivate the ‘Four Steps of the Wind God’ to the Great Achievement Realm, for sure!” I secretly said in my heart.
I walked out of the cultivation chamber side by side with my father, chatting as we walked.
“What is it you came to see me about?” Father asked.
“Sect Leader Windsky wants to ally with me. I feel that there seems to be a conflict between him and the Eight Demon Generals. Do you know about this matter?” I asked.
I didn’t tell my father that Ling Paisu had taught me the Time Shift Technique. Because Ling Paisu didn’t want anyone else to know about it.
The father has his own views on the matter.
“For the Eight Devil Generals to invite Sect Master Feng Tian to the Central Plains was a mistake in itself. They should have gone to the Seychelles themselves and solved the problem, and if they really wanted to invite him to the Central Plains, they should have gone together with the eight, instead of bringing him by force.” Father said.
“They hurt the pride of the Windy Sky Cultist.” I said.
There may be many reasons why Ling Paisu insisted on marching into the Central Plains, but in the final analysis, it was because of his wounded pride.
“They thought it was a small matter, so they did it perfunctorily, but it turned out to be a big disaster. This matter is indeed a mistake on the part of the Eight Demon Generals.” Father said.
I can feel the helplessness in my father’s heart. He couldn’t wait to throw the Eight Devil Generals and the Windy Sky Sect Master, together, and let them kill each other, and then remove all those disloyal people.
However, the Eight Demon Generals were the mainstay of the Heavenly Demon Divine Sect, if they collapsed, the Martial Arts Alliance would take advantage of the situation. Therefore, the Eight Demon Generals were chicken ribs to him, tasteless to eat and a waste to discard.
“Then why didn’t Sect Leader Windsky come to you directly, but came to me instead?” I asked.
Without hesitation, my father replied, “Because he’s afraid of me, and, besides, he thinks you’re easier to use.”
“What does he want to use me for?” I asked, feigning confusion.
“Go ask your armorer.” Father said.
“I don’t have a drill sergeant.” I said.
“Then get one.” Father said.
“Where am I going to find someone as smart as Army Master Sima?” I said helplessly.
My father laughed softly and said, “You boy, you are in a blessed state.”
I do need a smart military advisor like Sima Ming, which is my biggest problem at the moment.
“Aren’t you doing fine now? What else do you need a drill sergeant for?” Father said.
“You flatter me, it’s all luck that got me this far.” I said modestly.
The reason I was able to turn the danger around was because I had memories of my previous life, not because I was so smart myself. I needed a resourceful military advisor to advise me.
“I’ll ask you just one question, what exactly does Sect Leader Windy Sky want?” I asked.
Father stopped and said, “He wants to march into the Middle Kingdom.”
“Doesn’t he always guard his artifact and not move an inch?” I asked.
“That’s because he’s stubborn.” Father said.
“So, his dream, is to march into the Middle Kingdom?” I asked.
In his previous life, Sect Master Feng Tian did not march into the Central Plains. Because Hua Wuji swept through the martial arts world, he didn’t dare to take half a step into the Central Plains, and eventually died of old age outside of Seychelles.
But because of my rebirth, his fate changed. He came to the Central Plains, and even to the Heavenly Demon God Sect.
“The Blood Sect outside the Seas, has always coveted the Central Plains, and although they have never succeeded, their desire for the Central Plains is deep in their bones.” Father said.
“I finally realized why he came to me.” I said.
Even though I already knew the answer, I pretended to be in a state of realization. Sometimes, even if you know the answer, you have to pretend you don’t know, it’s a sign of respect to your father.
All parents in the world want their children, to be open-minded. My father, too, was no exception.
He turned to leave, and when he reached the door, he suddenly stopped and said, “Since you’re here, let’s eat before we leave.”
“Yes!”
That’s my favorite thing to hear my father say.
But I didn’t say it. I was afraid that if I said it, he would never say it again.
My father, he’s just so twisted.
After dinner with my father, I returned to the Yellow Springs Pavilion.
I had just returned to my room when I was greeted by an unexpected guest, the magic Buddha, Kozo Lobo.
“Lord Demon Buddha, welcome.” I rose to greet him.
