    Chapter Index

“Injustice! I definitely didn’t do anything like that!”

At this moment, in the interrogation room of the Yellow Springs Pavilion, the one who was vocally crying out for justice was none other than Pei Zongzhuo, a martial artist belonging to the Northern Heavenly Sword Family under the command of the One Flower Sword Venerable.

He was accused of defiling a young maid of the Sword Family, and was thus arrested to this point. If it were in the past, this kind of thing would not be worth mentioning at all, much less pursued. But now, the very next day after that maid sued Pei Zongzhuo, he was apprehended.

“It was that maid who framed me! I want to confront her face to face! I’m really framed!”

“Why did that maid falsely accuse you?” My tone was indifferent as I scrutinized the man in front of me who was pretending to be flustered.

“This …… how do I know this? Maybe it was instructed by someone, maybe I unintentionally offended her …… but I can swear to God that I absolutely did not touch her!” He spoke earnestly, as if he had really suffered a great injustice.

“Fine, then let’s get you and her face to face.” My tone was calm, but it carried an unquestionable majesty.

“Quickly bring her up!” Pei Zongzhuo urged impatiently as if he had grabbed a lifesaver.

I gently waved my hand towards the door, and Xu Dalong, who had been waiting there for a long time, led a girl who appeared to be no more than thirteen or fourteen years old in. The girl hung her head low, her petite body trembling slightly, obviously scared to the core.

“Hey! Why are you harming me like this!” Pei Zongzhuo turned his head violently and roared angrily at the girl.

My eyes were cold as I raised my hand and released a pressure that instantly suppressed his arrogance.

“Quiet! If you growl again, you’ll never see her again!”

“Yes …… yes, little know wrong ……” Pei Zongzhuo was intimidated by my aura, immediately like a deflated ball of leather, coyly lowered his head.

Only then did I turn to the girl and ask in a soft tone, “Is he the one who defiled you?”

The girl timidly raised her head, glanced at Pei Zongzhuo, and quickly lowered her head again, nodding gently.

“You see! She doesn’t even dare to look at me, she just nods her head carelessly!” Seeing this, Pei Zongzhuo immediately jumped up and pointed at the girl and said loudly.

“Do you need to carefully identify someone you know?” I asked rhetorically.

“She …… is weak hearted, so she doesn’t dare to look at me!” Pei Zongzhuo said forcefully.

“You really haven’t done anything like that?” There was a hint of playfulness in my tone, as if I had seen through his disguise.

“No, I swear on my life, absolutely not! If Your Honor convicts me based on this girl’s one-sided words, then I am truly wronged! Think about it, if I really need a woman, a trip to a green house would be enough, why would I lay my hands on such a yellow-haired girl?” Pei Zongzhuo said with conviction, seemingly wanting to win my sympathy.

“I don’t know about that, tell me, do you get excited when you see a little girl like that?” I looked at him with a smirk, an insightful glint in my eyes.

“I said no!” Pei Zongzhuo was infuriated, but he didn’t dare to snap at me, so he could only vent his full anger on the girl, glaring viciously at her.

“Do you know how serious the charge of false accusation is? I advise you to give an honest account, and I can forget about it! Come on, you admit that you are lying!”

The girl cringed and almost went limp at the menacing look on his face.

“Look, my lord! She’s scared like this, it’s clear that she’s weak-minded!” Pei Zongzhuo pointed at the girl and said triumphantly.

“She’s afraid you’ll kill her! Did you threaten her before to kill her family if she dared to tell?” I interrupted coldly.

As a matter of fact, the incident was not reported by the girl on her own initiative, but rather she cried out to the other maid, and that maid fought on her behalf, which led her to run to the Yellow Spring Pavilion’s branch rudder across the street from the Wind and Moon Restaurant to report the incident.

“Why does your honor only believe her side of the story?” Pei Zongzhuo saw that I wasn’t moved in the slightest, and there was a bit more anxiety in his tone.

“Because I trust her.” I spoke firmly, without the slightest hesitation.

“You’re being too biased, aren’t you?” Pei Zongzhuo gritted his teeth.

“Because what you’ve done is outrageous to man and God!” I slammed the table and shouted angrily.

“Then show me the evidence! Don’t convict me just based on the one-sided words of a girl!” Pei Zongzhuo screamed in color.

I glanced at him coldly and turned my head to look at Xu Dalong. Xu Dalong understood, turned around and walked out, and in a short while, he brought in two girls. These two girls were slightly older than the one from before, but still had a bit of childishness between their brows.

When Pei Zongzhuo saw these two girls, his face turned pale, and a hint of panic flashed in his eyes.

“Remember them? They have been your maids before.” My tone was as cold as ten thousand years of ice.

“Recognize …… recognize, they’ve all grown up ah ……” Pei Zongzhuo forced his composure and greeted them with a dry smile. However, those two girls just lowered their heads and didn’t say a word, as if they didn’t recognize him at all.

“I’m suddenly a little curious, since you did it this time, have you done it before?” There was a hint of mockery in my tone, as if I had already anticipated the answer.

Sure enough, after some investigation, those two girls also admitted that they had been defiled by Pei Zongzhuo.

“They have confessed, what else do you have to say? The way you defiled them was the same, even the words you used to threaten them were exactly the same. That’s how you are, changing the batch every two or three years, playing them like animals!” I angrily rebuked, my tone filled with disgust and contempt.

Pei Zongzhuo knew that he could no longer deny it, his face was a burst of green and white, the previous arrogance was gone, replaced by deep fear and despair.

“I …… I was confused for a moment and lost my temper after drinking, I beg your honor to spare my life!” He fell to his knees with a thud and begged bitterly.

His tone at this moment and before the judgment of two people, where there is half of the previous shouting grievances when the appearance, simply than those in the street to sell the theater even more able to act.

“Don’t worry, you’re not going to hell.” I said faintly.

Hearing my words, those three girls raised their heads in unison with surprise and fear in their eyes.

“Thank …… you, thank you, my lord ……” Pei Zongzhuo thought that I was planning to let him go, and quickly kowtowed and thanked him.

“Because I will send you to Hades!” A cold light flashed in my eyes and I said in a morose tone.

“What?” Before Pei Zongzhuo could react, the light of my sword had already slashed his throat.

    “Pfft!”

Blood gushed out, and Pei Zongzhuo didn’t even have time to let out a scream before he fell headfirst to the ground, dying of gas. The chair behind him was also knocked over onto the ground with a dull thud.

The sudden change scared those three girls into screaming. They looked at the scene in front of them in horror, at Pei Zongzhuo’s corpse, at the shocking blood on the ground, and at the copper coins that were stained red with blood, their eyes filled with fear and disbelief.

I slowly turned around and swept my gaze over the three girls, saying in a gentle tone, “Alright, the person who hurt you is dead, he can no longer hurt you or your family. From now on, you guys can live in peace.”

The three girls stared at me blankly, confusion and disbelief in their eyes.

“I know that what you have experienced will become an eternal wound in your hearts, and perhaps you will never be able to forget it for the rest of your lives. Since you can’t forget, then don’t forget. Remember today, remember the moment when this demon was ambushed, and use this moment of victory to cover up the hurt you once felt. Remember him, remember his final end!” I said in a firm tone, as if I wanted to carve these words into the depths of their souls.

I know that this may be the only thing I can do for them.

The three girls’ gazes slowly moved from my face to Pei Zongzhuo’s corpse, exchanging glances with each other.

After a while, the oldest girl stepped forward and bowed deeply toward me, saying in a sincere tone, “Many thanks, my lord, for avenging us!”

The other two girls followed suit and bowed.

“Thank you, my lord! Oooooo……” The youngest girl finally couldn’t help but cry, and the other girl hurriedly wrapped her in her arms, softly comforting her. However, her eyes had also turned red, tears welling up in her eyes.

Looking at the scene in front of me, my heart was filled with mixed feelings. I used to be the one who ignored all of this, not caring about what happened to these maids.

“You don’t have to thank me, I was able to avenge you because you were brave enough to come forward and brave enough to testify against him. This is what you deserve, what you fought for yourselves! Therefore, I hope that all of you will be brave in the future!” I said in a solemn tone.

“Uh-huh!” The three girls responded in unison.

“I guarantee that his family and friends will absolutely not dare to find trouble with you guys again. From now on, Yellow Springs Pavilion will protect your safety.” I continued.

The oldest girl couldn’t help but cry when she heard my promise.

“Thank you, my lord …… Thank you, my lord ……”
