    Chapter Index

    ……

Takahashi Mito is now starting to get used to cooking and cooking, and will also let her younger sister Ayano help herself on a regular basis; the sisters currently maintain a once-a-week takeout special, and choose to cook and eat at all other times.

Needless to say a strong sense of pride rises in both of them when delicious dishes are served.

Today was the same as always.

    Almost half an hour.

When the four dishes came out of the pot, it was still very satisfying.

Takahashi Mito breathed out and unwrapped his scarf, “Dinner is served!”

    “Oh!” Ayano responded.

The sisters then began to eat, tasting it and it tasted slightly salty, but just right with their rice.

Takahashi Mito took a tiny little bowl, and Ayano was watching.

The corners of his mouth showed a smile.

And without saying anything, he continued to eat his meal.

“Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, should I buy two apples back for you?” Takahashi Mito said casually.

“It’s okay, I’m not a kid anymore.” Bringing up this topic, originally Ayano’s still pleasing mood sank slightly, turning to look at her sister, “When will mom and dad …… come back for a trip?”

“Oh, I got a call yesterday saying I couldn’t make it back, and a living expense.” Takahashi Mito picked up the phone and shook it as if it was a money bag.

But …… is a bit ironic any way you look at it.

“Mo…… as a parent should come back to see the child anyways.” Ayano sighed.

What’s the difference between that and a commuter who gets paid in the middle of the month if you just give money.

    “……”

    “……”

It was rare for the sisters to be silent like this, and often when the subject of mom and dad came up, it was always a few sentences with nothing to say.

Mom and Dad have been out of the house on a regular basis since they were in elementary school, traveling more and more frequently, and both are in a heavy career mood, or maybe the couple isn’t in a relationship, so they see less and less of each other at home.

Both daughters have become more aware of this feeling as they have gotten older.

There was a time when Metu even asked her dad at one point if he would divorce her mom, and was scolded by her dad, and after that she never asked again because the chances of seeing her were getting fewer and fewer.

“It’s the same whether they come back or not anyway, I don’t care.” Takahashi Mito continued to eat her meal, a topic the two sisters didn’t want to talk about anymore.

It just still feels like a sense of loneliness inside.

“The atmosphere should not be so gloomy, tomorrow the big deal is that I’ll dance with you for three hours of exercise at night, anyway, I’ve gained weight recently, so it’s just the right time to reduce it, well, then it’s decided.” Takahashi Midu nodded to herself.

    “Well, that’ll have to do.”

    ……

    Day two.

    It’s Christmas Eve.

Quite a few men and women began to give each other peace jellies.

Natsuki Aoi was the first to receive Hayakawa’s, followed by Apricot Sakurajima, and then ……

    Yusuke’s?

    I’m not mistaken.

Aoi Natsuki looked up at Yusuke, who also looked at him with an aggravated expression, it was a situation after all, and he understood what he meant.

The peace offering was then returned to Yusuke.

Aoi, on the other hand, had made some cookies in the morning, which happened to be distributed.

Hayakawa gripped the bag firmly, his demeanor looking extraordinarily valued, “Yes! I’ll cherish it!”

I’m asking you to eat it all!

The members of the Exploratory Society have all more or less indicated that they have received a few Peace Jars.

The girl’s climbing is endless, Takahashi is 24, Sakurajima is 31, there is no way, after all, Sakurajima apricot after restoring the appearance of walking on the road are natural eye-catching, to say how to deal with these things, through all of them are thrown into the trash can on the line.

    One grumpy, one dark.

No one would pity these apples.

“Waste is shameful.” Aoi Natsuki reminded.

“It’s fine oh, I’ve already asked the janitor boss to collect it, I’m sure he can have a great Christmas Eve then.” Sakurajima apricot crossed her arms and nodded her head in satisfaction.

Being that fruits are expensive in Japan, it’s a hell of a thing to be able to throw away that much at once.

    “Everyone!”

Hayakawa’s sudden bang drew the crowd’s attention.

Several people looked at it in unison.

    “What’s wrong?” Natsuki Aoi asked.

“Tonight, tonight …… does everyone have plans tonight?” Hayakawa asked as he stammered and looked down.

“Tonight, well, not really.” Aoi Natsuki was planning to stay home with Rina tonight to catch up on the entire season of the show, and maybe even cook something for Rina in the wee hours of the morning or something.

And the same is not true for Mito Takahashi.

Christmas Eve is supposed to be a night to have dinner with your family and catch up on family life, and although it’s not as important as some of the major holidays, it’s considered more important in Japan.

But Takahashi’s parents don’t come home either, or just stay with his sister, and there’s nothing to arrange.

“I, I remember that there are only a few of you at Metou’s as well as Natsuki’s house, so if it’s possible, why don’t you come over to my house for dinner this Christmas Eve, my house may be small but, but I’m more than happy to welcome everyone who can come!” Hayakawa Keiko almost shouted out in a thin voice by the end, sort of gathering her courage.

Natsuki Aoi munched on a cookie, and then her eyes went to Takahashi on the side as well, which seemed like a good idea, “I’m fine, how about you?”

“I don’t have a problem with that either, and Ayano should agree.”

    “Then it’s no problem.”

“Ha.” Hayakawa’s head was held high, and a gleam appeared in her eyes, she was clearly the one who had been invited, but she looked happier than if she had received an invitation, so I really couldn’t figure her out.

“Then I’ll notify Dad!” Hayakawa pulled out his cell phone and quickly texted his family to notify them.

“Also there’s Dragon Sakura, ask around and maybe come over sometime too.”

“Okay, I’ll ask for you.” Aoi Natsuki replied.

It’s amazing how busy the whole club is again because of a small organizing event.

    Only ……

Apricot Sakurajima pointed at herself and asked incredulously, “Why don’t you ask me?”

Hayakawa looked up quizzically at that, “Doesn’t Sakurajima need to be home with his family?”

“Not at all, exactly, I’m sure Mom and Dad would be happier if they knew I’d be going to a friend’s house for dinner than having dinner with them.” Apricot Sakurajima averted her eyes, thinking about the fact that her parents would prefer her to go out instead, given her own lifestyle of staying at home on a weekend and fixing up weird and wacky stuff.

“That’s great! And you’re welcome to come along too!” Hayakawa narrowed his eyes and smiled.

That’s how the unexpected Christmas Eve gathering was quite large.

“Will it be too broke, after all, so many of us are going.” Takahashi Mito worried, she also knew that Hayakawa’s family seemed to be just an ordinary family, and she was afraid that it would be too much of a splurge and cost too much money.

“It’s okay, it’s okay, my uncle’s side of the family has attracted a large amount of aquatic products, so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of ingredients! Oh! Is everyone …… okay with eating seafood!” Hayakawa asked blankly.

    “No problem at all.”

    “So can I. Oh.”

    “OK.”

Several people have made their positions clear.

A gush of rosy luster slowly sprang up on Hayakawa Keiko’s face as well.

How could one not feel touched by the fact that in just three months, one has met so many soulful friends.

Luckily, I covered my mouth and forced down my emotions, or I would have cried for a while again.
