Chapter 18 – A Proud Natural Enemy
by Jessie@AFNCCAoi Natsuki couldn’t help but think of a classic line in his mind at this point: You’re blushing?
But in the end, she didn’t say it, but the expression of stifled laughter was still caught by the sensitive Hayakawa Keiko, and her face almost wore the expression of a tearful cat’s head.
“Excuse me.” Aoi Natsuki waved her hand, then coughed twice to straighten her attitude.
Hayakawa Keiko was slowly getting into the mood, and after almost two hours of cutting and perming her hair, a brand new Hayakawa Keiko stood in front of him.
Aoi Natsuki put down the magazine in his hand and when he raised his eyes, the first thing he noticed was her clear dark green pupils, the effect of the curls was really as he had foreseen, not just filling out the shape of the head, but the sides also did the job of trimming the face.
Previously, Hayakawa Keiko had kept her head down so that no one could see her looks, and in the long run they had all fallen into the illusion that there was a question mark over her image.
Now in this way, she looks …… really quite beautiful.
Evenly distributed freckles on the face has become a very good plus point, appearing in front of the girl more pure and lovely, especially with this twisted nervous face, should be able to evoke a lot of boys inside the desire to protect it.
“How about ……”
Keiko Hayakawa’s eyes dodged, her hands pressed to her sides, clenching her fists.
It was also her first attempt at change, and she hadn’t even looked much squarely at herself in the mirror after it was over.
Aoi Natsuki was able to detect her uneasiness, and with a pursed corner of his mouth, he closed the magazine in his hand and put it aside, looking straight at her and said, “It’s beautiful.”
“Yah……” Keiko Hayakawa quickly blushed and lowered her head as a hoarse yelp popped out of her mouth.
“It’s really pretty, and this way, I’m sure you’ll make more like-minded friends.” Aoi Natsuki stood up and pointed to the mirror next to her, while the hesitant Hayakawa Keiko finally gathered her courage and raised her head a little to look at herself in the mirror.
“How was it? Pretty good, huh?”
“Well ……”
“Looks like coming to the barbershop with you was the right choice.”
“Thanks ……”
“A show of hands, let’s go then.”
“Um, I’ll go check out.” Keiko Hayakawa’s heart was beating fast now that she was standing next to Natsuki Arai, and she ran all the way to the counter before it slowly calmed down.
After checking out, she took the small ticket handed to her by the clerk, and then turned back to look at Aoi Natsuki, who was not far away from her, who was putting the magazines back into their original place on the bookshelf, gradually becoming mesmerized.
……
Three days later.
Today is the day of club recruitment, which is especially important for the whole school, the whole square is full of people, very lively.
Aoi Natsuki simply pushed open the door, and instantly several people male students crowded up and stuffed club flyers in his hands, overwhelmed by the variety of costumes.
“We’re from the Tea Ceremony Department, you can try the green tea we just made.”
A few girls in traditional kimonos sit in a half circle, holding cups of tea for passing students to sample.
In the distance, there are clubs for samba, Latin, and other dances, as well as hard-core research, mind-expanding Go, Shogi, and more.
It’s really going to be eye candy.
“Natsuki!”
In the distance Oki Yusuke ran over, his height of one meter nine was very eye-catching in the crowd, with a hot dog in his mouth and a punching bag in his hand.
“You can eat so much by yourself.”
Natsuki Arai could tell there were at least five or six hot dogs in the bag.
Yusuke looked at him and winked, “I bought this for you, na.”
Yusuke handed the bag up.
“Oh, thanks then.” Don’t be so polite between good friends, Aoi Natsuki also pulled out a hot dog and ate it.
“What a lively scene na, it’s just a pity that I was forced by the minister to go to the basketball department right after I entered the school, and now it’s already too late to even regret it.” Yusuke sighed out in a breath, followed by another question:
“So what do we do now?”
“Waiting for someone.”
“Huh?”
Yusuke had a look of incomprehension on his face.
……
The other side.
Receiving the text message, Hayakawa Keiko was also a little excited inside, in the past few days she had not only surprised the students in her class because of the change in her image, even when she walked through the corridors, there were a few boys who would cast glances.
It made her a bit overwhelmed, but recalling the encouragement Aoi-san had given her earlier, she did try her hardest to make sure she could be a bit more confident.
Today was also the day that Aoi’s classmates had asked her to hang out with the club, and at that moment, she was leaning her forehead against the edge of the table, her gaze falling longingly on the screen of her cell phone underneath.
With most of the class gone, she was ready to go, but just as she stood up, she noticed Midu Takahashi, who was drooping by the window seat and playing with her cell phone.
“Metro, aren’t you going down there?”
She snapped.
Takahashi Mito’s action of pressing the screen paused, an impassive expression on her face, “I’m not going, there won’t be any clubs that would welcome me anyway, so I won’t make a fool of myself.”
“…… “Keiko Hayakawa didn’t know how to take that, and having an appointment of her own, she then walked towards the back door of the classroom in silence as well.
But two or three steps from the back door, she stopped and turned back, “Why don’t you follow me ……”
“Don’t you have a date?”
“Eh?” Keiko Hayakawa was surprised why Metsu knew about this.
“Don’t show such a surprised expression, your emotions are written all over your face, looking at your cell phone during an early morning study time is something that anyone else would be able to roughly guess, isn’t it?”
Takahashi Midu put down her cell phone and rested her right hand on the back of her chair, her face still expressionless, “Hurry up and go, don’t keep the other party waiting.”
“…… hmmm.”
Keiko Hayakawa nodded gently.
This time she walked straight out of the back door of the classroom, and the class was finally left with only Takahashi Mito.
With Hayakawa’s departure, the originally expressionless Takahashi Midu frowned instead, fiddling with her fingers in some chagrin.
It was obvious that she wanted to go with Hayakawa in her heart, and the words she just said were all excuses; she just used the words that best fit her persona so that Hayakawa could go to the appointment.
Just the cost of the result is that
She was alone again.
Takahashi Mito rested her chin on the table, her left hand curling the ends of her purple hair in bored silence.
But just two or three seconds later, footsteps came again from the back door of the classroom.
She instinctively inclined her head to see that Hayakawa had surprisingly walked back at a fast pace.
All the way to her side.
“Metu, I’m still a little scared …… will you be able to accompany me? Please.”
Takahashi Midu fumed for a moment, then looked at her flushed cheeks, for a moment she was also a little embarrassed and inclined her head, “Really, really can’t do anything about you …… Then I’ll accompany you.”
“Uh-huh! You’re the best, Metu!” With a heartfelt smile, Hayakawa Keiko pulled Metu from her seat and headed for the back door of the classroom at a brisk pace.
Takahashi Mito is a bit confused about the situation, but for such a result, it has to be said ……
She’s kinda happy.
