Chapter 7 – Losing a Plum to Carelessness
by Jessie@AFNCCYears of programmer’s work and overnight coding days let Cheng Ming’s body to develop a habit, before going to sleep in mind to think about what time to wake up, almost almost to that point before the body’s biological clock will be on time to wake up Cheng Ming.
Cheng Ming jolted awake and opened his eyes.
His neck was a little sore because of the weird sleeping position, and he twisted it, making a ‘clicking’ sound.
“What time is it?”
Cheng Ming’s first reaction was to go look for a cell phone, it seemed that he had to buy a cell phone.
But nowadays, cell phones are sky-high, Cheng Ming’s previous life has the first cell phone or after graduating from college, very classic Nokia 6300.
The ticking of the clock hanging on the wall is especially clear in a quiet home.
The time is now 1:54 p.m.
“Leigh, Leigh, wake up.”
Cheng Ming gently shook Cheng Li’s shoulder.
“Uh-huh…… brother, what time is it?”
Cheng Li rubbed his sleepy eyes and sat up from the sofa, still in a bit of a trance.
“1:55 p.m. Hurry up and pack up, let’s go to school.” Cheng Ming ruffled the messy hair in front of Cheng Li’s forehead and said.
“Ah! It’s two o’clock? That’s not only fifteen minutes before class.”
Cheng Li instantly sobered up and stomped his feet sharply on the sofa in a hurry.
“It’s a little late, so why don’t you take the afternoon off too.”
“No, I have to go to class, I’m in sixth grade, I have two months before I have to take my promotion exams, if I take two days off, I’ll fall behind on my homework and assignments, it’s all my brother’s fault, why didn’t you wake me up earlier?”
“My bad, my bad, change your uniform right away, where is it?”
“Both uniforms are hanging on the balcony.”
“I’ll get it for you.”
Cheng Ming drew his legs and ran to the balcony to collect Cheng Li’s school uniform back to the living room.
The white nightgown came off on the sofa, and Cheng Li was only wearing a small pure white tank top and bear chubby, a large amount of white jade-like skin was exposed to the air.
Cheng Ming said in a good-natured manner, “Change clothes in the bathroom or your room ah ……”
Because his sister’s body hadn’t begun to develop, her chest was a flat plate, and Cheng Ming didn’t avoid it to the point where he needed to avert his eyes.
“I don’t care about that now, just give me the clothes.”
Cheng Li snatched the school uniform from Cheng Ming’s arms and began to pull it over his body.
“Brother, where’s my red scarf?”
“I’ll get it for you.”
“Where’s my book bag?”
“On my back.”
Cheng Ming had long ago put Cheng Li’s book bag on his back, obviously an elementary school student, but the book bag was big and heavy, this was to bring all the textbooks and workbooks to school, right?
You only need to bring the textbooks for that day, but if you have a teacher who changes your class, you have to borrow books from the class next door.
The two siblings went downstairs in a hurry with their hands and feet, and the hurried Cheng Li stepped on an empty foot and fell downward. Fortunately, Cheng Ming was always watching his sister behind him and reached out at the first opportunity to pull her off balance.
“Slow down, there’s no need to be in such a hurry, even if you’re a few minutes late it’s okay, and you’re on sick leave.”
“I don’t want to report into class and be like a monkey.”
When you are a student, you do care about the stares of your classmates and teachers, and some teachers will purposely make things difficult for you by making you stand in front of the classroom door with a pestle when you’re late, or stand at the back blackboard with your books in hand to get to class.
Instead of stopping, Cheng Li even accelerated his pace, Cheng Ming had to cooperate with his sister and was dragged by her as she ran down the stairs.
Cheng Ming’s bike comes with a back seat, it just sits on his butt, usually Cheng Li would put a towel or something under his butt, but today he couldn’t care less.
Cheng Ming put his school bag in the basket at the front of the car, held the handlebars with both hands, landed on both feet, and tilted the body so that his sister could easily climb into the back seat of the car.
Cheng Li tightly wrapped his arm around Cheng Ming’s waist and urged, “Brother, go, go, go.”
“Yes, yes, I know.”
Cheng Ming stepped on the pedals and flew forward, the soles of his feet generating wind.
Although he was in a hurry, Cheng Ming was always aware of his surroundings, and he relentlessly rang the bell when he turned the corner.
Jingle bells, jingle bells–
The sound of bells mingled with the rustle of windblown leaves.
Nothing taller blocked the sun, and the hot sunlight fell on the two men, their shadows and those of their bikes cast on the road.
The boy wasn’t exactly tall and strong, but his back was straight, and the girl clung weaker to his back.
“Brother, stop, stop, just drop it off here, I don’t want to make you late.”
Seeing the kiosk near the school entrance, Cheng Li strangled Cheng Ming’s stomach, which was using his hand as a brake?
“Oh good.”
Cheng Ming stopped his bike, turned around, and put his hands through Cheng Li’s armpits, picking her up from the backseat and then gently placing her on the ground.
“I’ll get off myself.”
Cheng Li puffed up her cheeks and kicked her feet in the air in displeasure, almost greeting Cheng Ming.
What kind of adult is today’s brother pretending to be, when it is clear that there is no difference of a few years between him and himself. If it were not for the fact that he was born at the beginning of the year and the end of the year, there would not be a difference of three years, but only a little more than two years.
Cheng Li picked up his heavy school bag and grabbed the shoulder strap and ran towards the crosswalk.
“Watch for cars when you cross the street.” Cheng Ming reminded uneasily.
“I know, brother, you’re so nosy.”
Cheng Li answered without looking back, but obediently looked to the left and right, and only ran across the crosswalk after realizing that there were no cars.
Not many people can afford to drive a car nowadays, not to the point where four wheels are running all over the street, not even many cabs, the most passengers carried in Nanming City are human three-wheeled bicycles and motorcycles converted into tricycles.
However, there are fewer cars and the test for driver’s license is very casual, basically stuffing money to pass, so there are not many traffic accidents.
Cheng Ming’s side was also on fire to rush to the school without carrying his sister, as if he had unlocked some kind of seal.
If his sister heard Cheng Ming’s thoughts, she probably thought that Cheng Ming thought he was too heavy and wanted to beat him up.
Cheng Ming ended up rushing into the campus a second before the class bell rang, parked his car, and didn’t have time to lock his bike, running towards the school building.
Cheng Ming slipped into the classroom through the back door in a catlike manner, and at this time, the advantage of sitting in the back row was experienced.
Swaggering through the front door and shouting reports instead will disrupt the teacher and classmates in class.
The physics teacher naturally saw Cheng Ming who was a few minutes late.
But not wanting to disrupt his class because of him, he simply ignored it.
“Why did you come so late?” Lin Jingyi, who was looking at the blackboard, asked without looking away.
Cheng Ming panted and replied, “Hoha, accidentally overslept ……”
“That was sloppy, it’s a good thing it wasn’t Mr. Lian’s class, or you’d have had a hard time.”
The teacher Lian in Lin Jingyi’s mouth was naturally the math teacher and director of instruction, Lian Zhangyuan.
“I just dared to be late because I knew it wasn’t him.”
Cheng Ming sat down after a strenuous workout, his face red and sweaty, sweat running down his forehead, coalescing into beads, and dripping onto his desk.
There are only two ceiling fans in the classroom, the speed is still slow, hanging in the middle of the classroom, sitting in the corner of Cheng Ming naturally can not blow.
Despite the position by the window, there was now no breeze at all.
Cheng Ming tore off two pieces of homework to wipe the sweat, hard, and does not absorb sweat, the more you wipe your face, the more it hurts.
Lin Jingyi on the side was a bit unable to look at her, and put her hand into her pocket, squirming for a moment before pulling out a handkerchief embroidered with plum blossoms, saying, “Take it and wipe off your sweat.”
Handkerchiefs are undoubtedly intimate things for girls, watching Cheng Ming pull his beloved handkerchief into a ball and roughly wipe his face.
There was some heartache, some shyness, and even some unexplained joy.
The handkerchief brushed the tip of her nose, there was a faint fragrance coming from her, Lin Jingyi had the habit of using handkerchiefs, always carrying them on her body, naturally they would be stained with her body fragrance.
“Jing …… Lin Jingyi, your handkerchief is dirty by me, let me clean it and return it to you.”
Cheng Ming subconsciously wanted to call Lin Jingyi’s nickname Jing Jing, but he hastily changed it.
“No, you’ll just get dirtier the more you wash, huh?”
Lin Jingyi snatched the handkerchief with a dark face and inclined her head, furious.
Teenage hearts are always sensitive and delicate, and being called by her first name sounds normal.
But in Lin Jingyi’s ears it was Cheng Ming’s intention to alienate.
The two didn’t speak again in this class or even this afternoon.
Cheng Ming did not take it to heart, after all, it is a male and female table, to avoid suspicion.
But Lin Jingyi is more and more think the more angry, clenched small fists knocking their thighs, lend you handkerchief how even a thank you did not ah!
Cheng Ming, on the other hand, thought that there was no longer any need to say thank you for such a small thing in their relationship.
Lin Jingyi had wanted to educate Xiao Ming when no one was at school.
As a result, Cheng Ming ran away again as soon as school was over, rushing home for dinner.
“Little Ming, I’ll make you look good tonight.” The fist-pumping Lin Jingyi said viciously.
